Once you have loaded your system application onto the system disk, you should create an image of the system drive’s C: partition and place it into the E:\System Restore folder of the media drive using Acronis True Image. The following procedure explains how to create an image of your system drive, using the Acronis True Image version 9.0 Build 3854 Software, and store the image in the E:\System Restore folder in the E:\Media drive. The image should be stored with high compression to reduce the size of the image file. To create and store a C:\System partition image on the E:\Media drive: 1. Select Start > Programs > Acronis > True Image Home> Acronis True Image Home. The Acronis True Image Home Application Window opens. 2. Double-click the Backup icon.

Creating a C: Drive System Image and Storing it on the E: Partition using Acronis True Image Home V9.0 (Build 3854). Once you have loaded your system application onto the system disk, you should create an image of the system drive’s C: partition and place it into the E:\System Restore folder of the media drive using Acronis True Image. The following procedure explains how to create an image of your system drive, using the Acronis True Image version 9.0 Build 3854 Software, and store the image in the E:\System Restore folder in the E:\Media drive. 3. The Create Backup Wizard window opens. Click Next.

4. Confirm The entire disk contents or individual partition is selected and click Next 5. Select the C: partition as the partition you wish to create an image for, and click Next.

An information window opens click in box for “Do not show this message again.” and Select OK

The Backup Archive Location window opens asking where you want to store the created image.

6. Using the icons in the left panel, browse to and select the System Restore folder on the E:\ drive as the location for storing the image. The E:\ drive may be called Media or Clips on your system. Images are in the System Restore folder on the E: drive. 7. Choose a name for the image, type it into the File name location, and then click Next. Write down the name of the image and where it is stored. 8. Select Create new full backup archive and click Next.

9. Select Set the options manually and click Next.

Avid recommends NO password.

10. Select the compression level, Avid recommends High. Click Next.

The Image comment window opens.

11. Type a brief explanation of the image that you are restoring, including for example: - Software revision if known - Date and time - Non-Avid software loaded such as Quicktime® software - Any specific information that might define the image 12. Click Next.

A confirmation window opens and asks you to confirm the information. 13. Do one of the following: Click Proceed if correct. Click Back to change information, and return to this location when complete and click Proceed when correct. The image creation starts.

Avid recommends that you DO NOT use the system while the application is creating and storing the image because you could lose data. It might take up to 5 minutes for the image to be created. 14. Upon successful completion click OK, and close the Acronis application.

You can also use the same procedure to back up the complete system disk (partitions C: and D:) in case the complete disk is unusable. If you decide to do this, Avid recommends that you store both the C: partition and the complete disks (partitions C: and D:) so you can choose between what images you need to restore.
