North Carolina was settled by immigrants beginning in 1663.

The Carolina Charter granted the land mentioned in the document to some of his supporters.

The new wave of immigration in North Carolina from 1990 to present shows:

•Nearly all North Carolina counties with over 50 Hispanic students had increases of over 50%, and 16 had increases greater than 150%. •Statewide, Hispanic students increased 107% since the census - from 8,530 to 17,699. •However, they still represented only 1.5% of total students.
