What is DECA?
• DECA is a co-curricular organization of students enrolled in a marketing class. Students learn to apply classroom instruction in everyday business settings through real experience.

• Each district has its own officers who are elected annually at the District Career Development Conferences

• College bound students thinking of majoring in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Graphic Design, or similar
• Students thinking of possibly owning their own business

Education Clubs of America• Today DECA is “An association of
marketing students.”• Has over 5,000 HS chapters• Activities relevant to your
coursework and always relate to the fields of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship

The mission of DECA is to enhance the co-curricular education of students with interests in marketing, management and entrepreneurship.
DECA helps students develop skills and competence for marketing careers, build self-esteem, experience leadership and practice community service.
DECA is committed to the advocacy of marketing education and the growth of business and education partnerships.

Organizing a Chapter
1. Marketing teacher serves as Chapter Advisor & starts chapter with at least 4 members. Within 3 years chapter must grow to at least 10 members.
2. Marketing students join the chapter and become Members which are inducted with an official ceremony.
