Visual subliminal messages aredesigned to be unnoticeable bythe conscious mind, yet stillperceived by the subconsciousmind.

They are not consciouslyrecognized because either thesubliminal messages arecamouflaged or presented soquickly that there is insufficienttime for them to becomprehended.

The purpose of using them is tobypass the conscious mind and submit messages directly to the subconscious mind.

The reason for doing this is to influence the subconscious mind and introduce positivechanges in a persons beliefs and consequent behaviour.

Visual Subliminal Messages Static and Dynamic Types

Dynamic visual subliminal messages are commonly presented as short text messagesflashed at regular intervals on either a computer monitor or television screen.

The messages are presented rapidly, repeatedly and their content based on aparticular subject of interest. In most cases, display of the subliminal messages iscontrolled by a computer software program.

The subliminal messages appear only for a fraction of a second so that the brainperceives them but there is no conscious awareness of them.

A static visual subliminal message is usually embedded within an unchangingviewable image. In this case the messages are visually masked so that there is noawareness of them. These images may be presented on a display screen or even inprinted media.

In both static and dynamic types, the hidden message is masked by another morevisually dominant image. This masking image is designed to act as a distraction sothat no conscious attention is paid to the subliminal message.

    Origins of Visual Subliminal Messages

Much of the original interest in usingsubliminal messages is based on an incidentin 1957 at a New Jersey drive-in movietheater involving James Vicary, a marketing

    promoter.

He stated that by inserting images of soda and popcorn into frames of movie news

  • reels, he observed a substantial increase inthe sales of both.

This became the basis for the controversiallegendary effect of subliminal messages, even though there was at that time no realinterest in what they were or how they couldinfluence behaviour.

There was also no understanding of thedifferences between visual and audiosubliminal messages.

In spite of the fact that Vicary later admittedhis evidence was fabricated, he was highlyinstrumental in making subliminalpersuasion a topic for public discussion andresearch.

Without him having done so, efforts in pursuing the effects of subliminal messagingmay not have begun until years later.

    How Visual Subliminal Messages Work

Both static and dynamic visual subliminal messages have one common characteristic.Although termed visual, they are ironically designed not to be recognized, but onlyperceived by the subconscious mind.

In the case of a static image that containsa hidden subliminal message, themessage may not be noticeable even if itis viewed for many hours.

The subconscious mind has a muchgreater ability to understand the message.

Dynamic visual subliminal messages arepresented as short phrases that canappear in any small area of the displayalmost imperceptibly.

The content of the messages is crucial andthere are points that should be observedin creating subliminal messages properly,

such as ensuring negative phrases are avoided (e.g. I will not overeat).

Video recordings available in DVD, VHS or MPG formats are static and are highlyunlikely to contain visual subliminal messages.

However, it is more than possible to create them or modify existing recordingsto embed persuasive messages in selective video frames.

In contrast, computer software programs are available that can present dynamicsubliminal visual text messages. They are designed to present messages dynamicallyon a computer monitor without interfering with other tasks being performed.

Although audio subliminal messages are perceived at a slower rate than visualmessages, no attention is required by the listener. The fact that the brain is designed toprocess images more rapidly is an advantage in using visual subliminal messages.

More visual information can be presented to the subconscious mind in a shorterperiod. The benefit is that it may take less time to introduce the subconscious changesdesired, even though attention to the displayed messages is required.

  • Using a computer program to display visual subliminal messages allows other tasks tobe performed at the same time, such as creating a document, a spreadsheet, or simplyaccessing information on the Internet.

Any subliminal software program should include certain features that are easy to useand effective. It should be possible to control the content of the messages, how longthey are displayed, and how frequently they are presented.

The producer of the software should also provide various templates for desired goals(e.g. losing weight, self-esteem, etc.). A template contains a list of displayed subliminaltext messages.

When selecting computer software that presents visual subliminal messages, attemptto ensure that it has at least all of the following characteristics:

Message templates should be providedAll messages should be editableScreen presentation should be adaptableMessage location should be selectable as either random or staticContrast controls should permit video adjustmentsInterval timing of messages must be adjustableDuration of messages must be adjustableCharacteristics of messages should be modifiableBackground music should be availableControl of message font size should be permittedHow the program starts up should be controllable

Visual messages can be presentedfaster than audio messages and areconsidered to be more effective.

This is because the visual system ofthe brain can absorb more informationin less time.

Visual subliminal messages can bepre-recorded on video tape, DVDs orone of the available video file formatssuch as MPG.

There would be other static or dynamicimages presented to mask the

    subliminal text messages.

These recordings can be replayed repeatedly but you have no control over thesubliminal content or how its presented.

You can also choose subliminal software programs that give you the power to controlthe message content, the background music, displayed images or animations, timingand other features.

Audio subliminal or supraliminal messages do not require that you keep your eyesopen. This is not possible with visual subliminal messages and you must be activelyviewing the screen in order in order for the messages to be perceived.

For people that spend considerable time in front of a computer this is ideal because itdoesnt interfere with work or entertainment. Another benefit is that since the visualmessages are displayed so quickly, other people will not notice that you are doing this.

Background music can always be turned off so that no one will be disturbed by it oryou can use headphones. You can also listen to a different audio source that deliverssubliminal or supraliminal messages at the same time.

Well, audio subliminal recordings seem to be a fantastic idea for triggeringpositive approaches and spirits in my view. As these recordings often remind us,what are we supposed to do and what do we need to do for achieving our target.

Our body and mind should work together for accomplishing our desired goals (Yes,your weight loss summary is a perfect example of this).

Thanks for your enlightenment about subliminal messages!

Subliminal, supraliminal or paraliminalaudio recordings require creatinga sound track.

The purpose of this audio track is eitherto mask messages, promote a state ofrelaxation or potentially both.

This is extremely important in how thesubsequent audio components are builtand their effectiveness.

Since the sound or masking track is usually most audibly predominant in a recording, itis important to know how to create, select or generate one in the best way possible.

There are two basic ways to consider a masking or sound track. The first is from thelisteners perspective, and the second from the creators perspective.

Since you are the creator of the recording, it is vital that you understand both what apotential listener expects and prefers, as well as what your own requirements are for amasking or sound track.

Subliminal Sound Tracks What the Listener Expects

The listener obviously expects that therecording will be of a high quality andbe effective.

They are not concerned with the detailsof how it was created, but they willexpect the masking or sound track thatthey hear be relaxing, soothing andappeal to them.

This means that as a recording creator, you must ensure that you meet these

requirements. Unfortunately, what is relaxing, soothing and appealing to one personmay be completely different for another person.

For example, the gentle sounds of ocean waves lapping onto the seashore with birdschirping in the background may be soothing to some, but may trigger a negativereaction in others.

Similarly, listening to the sounds of insects for an extended period may be quiteunpleasant for certain individuals. To a lesser degree, classical music without vocalsmay simply sound uninteresting to some people.

The solution is to provide as wide a variety of masking or sound tracks as possible sothat they appeal to the majority of the potential listeners. As simple as this may seem, itcan difficult to do in practice. This is the point where the requirements of the listenermeet yours, as a creator.

  • Sound and Masking Tracks What the Recording Creator Desires

Being a creator of subliminal or other recording types, your preferences with respect tocreating or selecting a masking or sound track are different than that of the listener. The most important of these are as follows:

Provide the fewest number of masking or sound tracks possibleAppeal to the largest number of listeners possibleWhether obtaining or generating sound tracks, be of low cost

You can provide only a small number of maskingor sound tracks and still have your potentiallisteners find them appealing.

But you must select a core group that has beenfound to be acceptable to most people. Themajority of people find nature sounds or gentleclassical music to be soothing, relaxing andappealing.

Within the category of nature sounds, there arethe sounds of ocean waves, rainfalls, waterfalls, rivers, brooks, wind, a crackling campfire andmany others.

It is suggested that you consider providing two ormore different types that sound consistent, such as ocean waves and perhaps a gentlerainfall.

    Secondary Masking Track Audio Sounds

Even though these are wise choices, a secondary sound track should also be mixedwith them. The reason for this is to provide random sounds that render the track moreinteresting to the ear.

A suggestion is to include additional nature sounds such as different types of birds orinsects. Relaxing and soothing is important, but there is no reason for the sound trackto seem so consistent that it becomes boring to listen to.

If you were to choose two primary types of nature and two secondary types, then aftermixing, you would have four available selections for use as your sound or maskingtrack.

This should be your minimum core group to use, but if you increase the number ofprimary or secondary sound types, it becomes more difficult to manage and youshould not exceed eight.

Keep in mind that this is only the sound or masking track, and you still need to createand manage message and brainwave tracks (if used).

Classical music sound tracks are also appealingbut it is important that you choose those that arenot overly dynamic.

By this it is meant that there should be few highand lows and the general sound and tempo isconsistent.

A soft and gentle concerto by Beethoven or Bach isacceptable, but the 1812 Overture by Tchaikovskyis far too dynamic.

Also, if you choose to use classical music for yoursound or masking tracks, there is no reason to mixthem with a secondary track containing random

    sounds of nature.

  • The reason for this is that most classical music tracks are already reasonablyconsistent yet still sound interesting.

    Sound Track Sources

As a recording creator, you also need to decide whether to obtain your sound ormasking tracks from other sources, generate your own with software programs, recordthem yourself or perhaps a mixture of all three.

If you choose to obtain free sound clips orpay for pre-recorded sound tracks, you mustbe cautious in how you select them.

Many available relate to nature sounds andthose that are free are usually very short inlength and of poor quality.

It is highly recommended that you do not usefree short audio clips in your sound ormasking track because of this.

Although usually limited to nature sounds, another option is to obtain software that can

generate sound or masking tracks of any length that you can customize in virtually aninfinite number of ways.

The advantages to this is that the generated sound track will be exactly what youdesign it to be, involve no royalty fees, be of high quality, and never have embeddedsubliminal messages.

You may also select to record your own sound tracks but this can be somewhat of achallenge. It requires the correct environment, good recording equipment and somepatience.

Whether it involves nature sounds or classical music, the sound or masking track thatyou incorporate into your subliminal, supraliminal or paraliminal recording should beacceptable to your potential listener and be within the limits of your resources as acreator.

You also need to decide if it is best to record your own sound tracks, use prerecordedones or use software to generate them. Striving for a balance between what optionsyou provide your listeners with and what is manageable for you should be your goal.

Two types of recordings thatyou may choose to createrequire including a relaxationaudio segment.

Supraliminal or paraliminalaudio recordings should havean introductory audio segmentthat both physically andmentally helps the listenerenter a relaxed state.

This article discusses the best way to write a relaxation script and how to properly useit in your recordings.

There are different aspects to designing a relaxation script and you should strive toachieve the desired effect for your listener and help them in every manner to enter arelaxed state.

Once recorded, your relaxation audio segment can likely be used when creating otherrecordings, but you must first ensure that it has the desired effect.

There are two features you should consider when writing a relaxation message script. The first is to use statements that will help the listener physically relax, and the secondis to optionally introduce statements that allow them to mentally relax.

Designing Message Script Statements for Physical Relaxation

Messages designed to physically relax your listener should induce progressive stagesof relaxation. The statements should be designed so that they gradually direct thelistener into an increasingly more relaxed body state.

One method of doing this is to verbally walk the listener through each major body area, direct their focus on it and suggest that it is now becoming relaxed.

This is easier to achieve if the listener is retiring for the night, or is physically fatigued, but you should not assume this is always the case.

It is better to presume that the listener is basically alert and conscious and constructyour messages appropriately.

Doing so ensures that you are targeting people that may be physically exhausted andalso those that are fully awake but have chosen to become relaxed by listening to yourrecording.

Your recorded relaxation script should have the same desired effect on both types oflisteners. The only difference would be the time it takes to induce a state of physicalrelaxation.

It can take only seconds for one person to embrace relaxation and another, manyminutes if not more.

  • Some suggested message statements thatyou could use in your relaxation script tophysically relax your listener in a gradualmanner are as follows:

Imagine that you are relaxing in a favoriteplaceYou are feeling calm and comfortableBreathe in deeply and gentlyFeel yourself relaxing even moreAll tension in your face and neck is nowdisappearingRelaxation is moving to your chest andarmsFeel all physical tension dissolve nowFeel relaxation in your hips and legsAll tension dissolves gently through yourfeet

Breathe out gently and slowlyYour body is becoming even more relaxed

This is only a partial list of suggested message statements and you should includeseveral more. Each additional statement should serve to enhance a physical state ofrelaxation. But you should not write a relaxation script that is too lengthy because oncerecorded, it may consume more time in the final recording.

By having the listener enter a physically more relaxed state, it is likely that they willbecome more receptive to the target messages that follow. But this is possibly notenough, in that although they may be relaxed physically, you should consideraddressing the issue of mentally relaxing them.

This is optional and possibly not necessary for some of your potential listeners. Forcertain people, they may be able to relax their body, but their mind can still be activewith concerns about the events of the day and perhaps hundreds of other thoughts. For others, once their body is relaxed they may also become mentally relaxed, but thisis not always certain.

Designing Message Script Statements for Mental Relaxation

Once your relaxation script has the designed effect of introducing a state of physicalrelaxation, an optional next step is to induce a relaxed mental state so that thelisteners subconscious defense mechanisms are furthered lowered.

As a result of being physically relaxed, your target listener may not require more than afew statements that suggest they become mentally at ease.

These messages should be carefully written and in a gentle and considerate manner.

Your goal should be to suggest that they are mentally in a good place, arecomfortable, safe and feel wonderful.

To assist you in doing this, somesuggested statements that can help yourlistener enter this state are providedbelow.

Imagine being in a quiet and safe placeThis is the place you have dreamt aboutbeforePretend that you are now in this placeIn this place you let go of all problemsEverything is wonderful and in everyway

  • You are now feeling calm and comfortable

You will likely be able to write and consider including additional message statementsthat target mentally relaxing your listener. But you should be careful in how manystatements your final relaxation script includes.

You should seek to keep your relaxation segment to at most a few minutes and thiswould mean writing from 30 to 50 relaxing message statements. This includes bothmessage statements for physical and mental relaxation.

Message statements written to assist in physically relaxing your listener shouldrepresent the major content of your relaxation script. Including others that will aid inmentally relaxing your listener is also suggested.

    Additional Methods to Inducing Relaxation

Your relaxation message script will ideally have two effects in that it permits thelistener to embrace a gradual state of physical relaxation, and also that it optionallypromotes a mental state of relaxation.

Either or both is desirable, but you mustalso consider the effects ofaccompanying sound or brainwavetracks designed to enhance this effect.

A relaxing sound track or brainwavetrack used in your recording will also aidto help your listener relax, bothphysically and mentally.

These are equally important for helpingyour listener, but just different.

There is a degree of overlap betweenyour recorded relaxation messages andsound and brainwave tracks.

It may make no difference in the effectproduced, but each has a purpose in

attempting to quiet the mind of the listener and performs it in a unique manner.

An introductory relaxation audio message segment in your recording will attempt toguide your listener into a more receptive state, but this will only be for a few minutes.

Sound or brainwave audio tracks will attempt to enhance or sustain this relaxed statefor almost the entire duration of the recording, but in a different manner.

It may take several attempts to create an ideal relaxation message script, but it willlikely be worthwhile because your listener will appreciate it more, and you can likelyreuse the relaxation segment in other recordings.

In conclusion, you should design and write your relaxation scripts in a positivemanner, and understanding the differences between physical and mental relaxationwill only ensure that your listener is more able to embrace the subject messages ofyour recording.

As simple as it may seem, listening to a subliminalor other type of self-help recording involves morethan just plug in and play.

There are other aspects to the listeningexperience you should consider if you wish tooptimize the effect the recording has.

This article addresses and explains severaloverlooked important points of listening properly.

Whether you are creating subliminal, supraliminalor paraliminal recordings for personal use or for

others, the bottom line is that they are of no use unless they are listened to correctlyand effectively.

Even the highest quality recording will not achieve the targeted goal unless it is usedand ideally in the best manner.

Assuming the recording you have created or obtained is designed and constructedappropriately, it will have specific characteristics, depending on what type of recordingit is.

You may already understand the differences between subliminal, supraliminal andparaliminal recordings. Because each type is unique, the best way to listen to themshould also be unique.

How to Listen to a Subliminal Audio Recording

The principle with a subliminal recording is simple in that there is a message trackpresented at an almost inaudible level. This track is mixed with an additional soundtrack that masks the messages and is appealing to the ear.

This type of recording is designed sothat you can listen to it at anytime, because it does not require you to beable to relax.

Ironically, it is better to listen to asubliminal recording in a relaxedsetting.

This is because there is lessresistance to the messages from the

subconscious mind when you are relaxed.

This does not mean that you should not listen to it when driving or engaged inactivities requiring your attention. It only implies that it can be more effective if yourconscious defense mechanisms are lowered.

  • choose a time when there are fewer conscious distractions around you.

Another suggestion is that you use headphones to listen to the recording if possible. This is not because there are alternating stereo voices as in a paraliminal recording, but rather that using headphones focuses the message and sound track directly. Thisalso has the advantage of reducing any external sounds from the environment aroundyou.

The volume at which you listen to a subliminalrecording is also important and listening to any typeof self-help recording should always be a pleasantexperience.

Set the volume of your playback device so that youcan hear the masking track (ocean waves, forexample), but not so loud in that they becomeirritating.

Equally important, listening at too low a volume mayrender the subliminal messages useless becausethey must be audibly perceptible, even if just barelynoticeable.

Adjust your volume to a level most comfortable for you by reducing it from a high pointand moving downwards to a desirable setting.

Lastly, if you have the option, select a masking sound track that is acceptable to you.For some, water sounds may induce more frequent bathroom visits, and other peoplemay simply not find the sounds of insects very appealing.

How to Listen to a Supraliminal Audio Recording

As you are likely aware of, supraliminal recordings use message and sound tracks thatare completely audible. In addition, they almost always contain initial relaxationmessage segments.

They are designed to introduce a state of relaxation so that the messages that followare more readily accepted by the subconscious mind. This assumes that when youchoose to listen to them you are prepared to become relaxed.

This point is sometimes forgotten and by this it ismeant that you need to schedule a time to listento the supraliminal recording.

Even if you can only relax for a short time andperhaps only for 15 or 30 minutes, this is muchmore effective than listening to it when you arenot able to relax.

You should also provide yourself with not just thetime, but the environment in which to listen.

Your preferences may involve a relaxing bath, lounging in a chair, or stretched out on a couch. As long as you are comfortable andcan eliminate conscious distractions, your listening experience should be satisfying.

How to Listen to a Paraliminal Audio Recording

Paraliminal recordings can be highly effective but only if they are listened to in thecorrect way. As with a supraliminal recording, scheduling and preparing for a period ofrelaxation is important. But with a paraliminal recording, you should anticipatelistening for an extended period of time, and perhaps several hours.

Also, because a paraliminal recording incorporates multiple stereo tracks, messagesare presented to both left and right channels. This may likely include brainwave tracksdesigned to induce an enhanced state of relaxation.

  • Using stereo headphones to listen to aparaliminal recording is not only suggested, but is required in order to achieve the bestresults.

The embedded brainwave entrainment trackpresents tones of different frequency to eachof the stereo channels and will have no effectunless both are audible at the same time.

As with a supraliminal recording, you should provide yourself with a comfortableenvironment in which to relax while listening. Ideally, this should be at the time whenyou retire for sleep.

You should also ensure that the stereo headphones you use fit comfortably, deliverhigh-quality sound and will not slip off your head while you are sleeping. Obtaining aset of quality stereo headphones is an excellent investment if they can help youachieve the goal that you have chosen.

Achieving the benefits of what a subliminal, supraliminal or paraliminal recording canoffer is only the beginning of a listening experience that ends in your ears.

And what messages are delivered to your ears is dependent on how you choose toembrace them. Ideally, in a manner that has the greatest effect.

So listen if you can, but choose to listen carefully.

Before considering how to createsubliminal messages to help oneself orothers, it is important to define exactlywhat is a subliminal message.

Understanding how and why they canbe used to introduce ideas and changesat the subconscious level and affectpeople in a positive manner isextremely important.

A subliminal message is any type ofinformation or signal that can bepresented to the human mind below the

normal level of awareness. Subliminal is defined as:

Not rising above the threshold of consciousness; designed to act on the

mind at a subconscious level. (Websters Encyclopedic Dictionary)

Subliminal is derived from sub (meaning below) and limen, (Latin for threshold).

    Subliminal Message Perception and Types

Subliminal messages can actually be heard or seen and are either at a low volume, presented extremely quickly or visually masked.

It is unlikely that there will be conscious awareness of them unless paying extremelyclose attention. The two major types of subliminals are visual messages and audiomessages.

The messages are within the limits of physical perception, but below the level ofnormal consciousness.

If created and delivered properly, they are received directly by the subconscious mind.

Their potential power exists because the subliminal messages are not censored orjudged by the conscious mind.

This does not mean that any subliminal message type will be accepted by thesubconscious mind.

The messages must be designed, written, recorded and presented in the best waypossible.

Unless all of these aspects are addressed correctly, the messages will not beaccepted and have the affect on the subconscious that is desired.

The definition of subliminal relies on the assumption that the human mind consists oftwo major components; the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

  • The conscious mind represents normalwaking awareness and provides the abilitiesfor reasoning, analysis and focusing on aspecific thought as directed.

This is what you are presently using at thismoment as you read this article.

The conscious mind has limited memorycapabilities which you can prove immediatelyto yourself by attempting to recall exactly whatyou were doing one week or month ago.

This can be difficult for virtually everyone, butwhat the conscious mind lacks in memorycapacity is more than compensated by itsability to process information.

The conscious mind also actsas a filtering or censoring agentthat will either accept or refusecertain ideas that are presentedto it.

If you were to directly suggest toyourself that you were alreadyhealthy and wealthy yourconscious mind would likelyrefute the idea immediately.

This is why it is necessary to present messages that bypass the conscious mind andintroduce subconscious subliminal messages.

The Subconscious Mind and Subliminal Messages

The subconscious mind is almost the reverse of the conscious mind in that it acts as astorehouse for all the events and experiences encountered throughout a lifetime.

The details of these memories can be accessed and this has been proven by placingsubjects into a state of hypnosis and using hypnotic age regression.

The subconscious is only capable of very simple reasoning and most of what isentered into it is interpreted almost literally.

It is not able to analyze what is submitted to it but is more than capable ofremembering it.

This can be either of benefit or detrimental to your well-being and a past experiencethat had an emotional effect may still influence the present.

If past experiences, either positive ornegative remain unaddressed in thesubconscious then they may have aneffect that is projected into the present.

The subconscious will attempt to maintainthe current state of programming for aperson.

If they have had past experiences thathave programmed the subconscious toexpect lack, ill-health, loneliness or manyother characteristics, then thesubconscious will attempt to keep theperson in such a state.

The subconscious will also strive to maintain any present habit, no matter good or bad

  • until it receives new programming. It may also contain defense mechanisms that maymake it more difficult for some types of subliminal messages to be accepted.

This is usually dependent upon the personality and the more independent, self-controlling, self-empowered or free-spirited a person is, the more difficult it is for theirsubconscious to accept change. Fortunately, if the subliminal messages are designedproperly, this is reasonably simple to overcome.

Understanding the precise definition of a subliminal message is likely less importantthan the potential benefits they can provide and instead of debating the definitions ororigins, it is likely far more productive to simply focus on how to create subliminals tohelp yourself or others.

Choosing the length of a subliminal, supraliminal orparaliminal recording is an issue that is most oftenmisunderstood.

There are several topics related to this such as thelength of the message script, message track andhow they should be built.

It is to your advantage and your potential listenersthat you understand these issues before designingand building your recordings.

Each type of recording requires an audio messagetrack which is created using the message script thatyou should already have written in the best way

    possible.

There are other articles available that describe how to do this properly, and it issuggested that you read further about using the proper tense, permissive and directivestatements, first and second person perspectives, avoiding negative words or phrasesand various others.

    Message Script Length

After the message script has beenwritten and recorded or generated, it willusually be several minutes in length.

This short audio message segmentshould be mixed repeatedly whenbuilding the final message track.

You may have more than one if decidingto use both male and female voices.

Exactly how long this audio message segment is depends on how many messagestatements there are in the script and how they are recorded or generated.

Your message script should include between 50 and 60 statements, and always bepresented in a relaxing and calm voice.

Each statement will likely be about five seconds in audio length and this means thattwelve statements could be created for each minute (5 seconds x 12 statements = 60seconds).

If there were 60 messages and each took five seconds then this would mean that thatthe message clip would be approximately five minutes in length (60 statements x 5seconds = 300 seconds).

  • However, a five-minute messagesegment is not long enough whencreating any type of message track.

The audio message clip will have tobe repeated several times in order tobuild an audio message track that isapproximately 30 minutes in length.

The short message clip that has beencreated will have to be sequentially

mixed so that it reaches approximately 30 minutes.

This means that if the original clip was 5 minutes in length, then 6 copies of themplaced one after another would result in an audio message track that approaches 30minutes in length.

If different voices were used in creating the message segments, then it is suggested touse them when mixing the final message track.

For instance, if the same message script was used to record or generate audiosegments with a male and then a female voice, you could build the message track bysequentially mixing the male voice segment followed by the female voice segment.

This could be done repeatedly until the suggested length of 30 minutes isapproximately reached.

An advanced strategy when mixing the message track is to present different messagesegments simultaneously in each of the left and right audio channels.

This usually requires having already created message segments with both female andmale voices. Instead of sequentially combining them, they would be inserted inparallel into the left and right audio channels.

The advantage of doing so is that the listener will hear all the messages twice withinthe same length of time.

Repeating the Message at the Subject Level

In order for a subliminal, supraliminal orparaliminal recording to achieve thetarget goal of introducing change to thesubconscious mind, the messagesprovided must be repeated.

This is done on different levels and it isimportant to both understand andaccomplish this in the best way possible.

At the basic level, the message scriptsyou design will contain statements that are similar and address the goal desired.

These could relate to success, fitness, relationships or any number of topics. Theimportant point is that at the subject level, they target the same goal but from differentperspectives.

For example, if the desired goal involved weight loss, there are several aspects toconsider. This could involve proper eating habits, motivation to exercise, lovingoneself and likely other issues.

Even though the statements will be different, they should be designed so that theyaddress the same target issue but from different angles. This form of repetition at thesubject level is extremely important and should always be a consideration whendesigning your message scripts.

  • At the next level, these recorded or generated audio message statements will becombined when building the final message track.

By doing so, another level of repetition is provided and this is accomplished bysequentially mixing the audio message segments or as suggested previously, combining them in parallel using both left and right audio channels.

The message segments you have recorded or generated should be mixed in the bestmanner to build the final audio message track.

This may involve using different voices segments but regardless, the statementsshould be repeated several times as a group.

    Repetition at the Listener Level

Once the audio message track hasbeen built, there is only one morelayer that involves repetition.

This is up to the listener and howthey decide to play the recordingsthat you have created for them.

They can easily choose to set theirplayback device to repeat the recording and this should be suggested to them.

Although the length of the message track is recommended to be approximately 30minutes, this can be increased if desired.

However, this is not necessary because the messages presented are alreadyrepeated several times and the final recording can easily be set to play backcontinuously, perhaps even for many hours if preferred.

Also, this represents only one listening session, and it is likely that the listener will beplaying the recordings frequently and possibly for weeks until the desiredsubconscious changes take effect.

A recording of greater length also requires additional storage space, and although thismay not matter for a few recordings, it will have an impact if you are creating manyrecordings.

Remember that it is necessary not only to store the final recordings, but each of thetracks used in building them as well as the audio message segments.

Sound and Brainwave Tracks in Recordings

Once you have built the audio message track, the audio segments for sound orbrainwave audio tracks will have to be created. Depending on the type of recordingthat you decide upon, it may require additional effort to either record or generate these.

The length of any additional sound orbrainwave tracks should be dependenton the length of the final audiomessage track.

If the final audio message track wasbuilt so that it was approximately 30minutes in length, then theaccompanying sound or brainwavetracks should be created so that theyare also of the same duration.

The reason for doing this is to ensurethat the final recording provides as

    many helpful messages as possible.

If the audio message track was 30 minutes in duration but the accompanying sound or

  • brainwave tracks were 35 minutes in length, this can be a potential problem.

In this case, there would be five minutes of time in the recording in which no messageswould be presented to the listener. Other than having the effect of perhaps relaxing thelistener, no messages would be presented and obviously have no effect in helpingthem.

You have many options when designing and building a subliminal, supraliminal orparaliminal audio recordings. One of the most important is deciding on the length ofthe recording.

The duration of your final recording should be aligned with the initial message audiotrack and any or all of the additional sound or brainwave tracks. Doing this will onlyserve to help your listeners and increase the value that you receive from them.

Whether creating subliminal recordingsfor your own use or for others, you shouldbe aware of the side-effects this mayhave on you personally.

Each step in designing and creating aself-help recording of any type requiresdifferent types of action.

It is almost impossible to avoid theconsequences these actions will have onyou as a recording creator.

This article discusses how this can affectyou in ways you may not have expected.

You likely already understand each of the steps involved in creating either asubliminal, supraliminal or paraliminal recording after reviewing other related articles.

The steps having the greatest effect on you will be the creation of the message tracks, the brainwave tracks and the process involved in mixing each of the various trackstogether to create the final recording.

Side Effects of Creating Audio Message Tracks

For each of the self-help subjects that you target in your recordings, you will need toproperly design and write the message script.

It may take anywhere from a few hours to several days to refine it so that thestatements have the greatest impact.

The message script will of course have to be either recorded or generated as an audiosegment.

Several copies of this audio clip will need to be sequentially mixed in order to achievethe desired message track length.

As you build the message track, you will be exposed to each of the statements in thescript repeatedly, often to the point where they may become almost annoying to listento.

If you find this happening to you, it is best that you take a break or switch to a differentaspect of the recording creation process, or even work on a different recording subject.

The suggested reason for this is that if you are unable to focus clearly on what you aredoing, then you are more likely to make a mistake and the quality of your recordingmay suffer.

The other side-effect you will likely be aware of is that repeated listening to themessages may affect you with respect to the target subject. If the topic you selected forexample was overcoming the fear of heights, then you may become less fearful of

  • heights, but only if two conditions are true.

First, you would have to already have a fearof heights. Regardless of the self-help topictargeted, a problem cannot be resolved if itdoes not already exist. This is an importantprinciple you should remember not just foryourself, but for your listeners as well.

The second condition is that even though youwill be listening to the messages repeatedlyover the course of perhaps several days, itmay still not be long enough to impact yourown subconscious. Even after progressingthrough the mixing process in creating thefinal recording, this can still hold true.

As a creator, you have the option of notlistening once the recording is completed.

Your listeners, on the other hand, will choose to listen to the recording frequently andperhaps for weeks or months until it achieves the desired affect.

Side Effects of Creating Brainwave Audio Tracks

If you choose to create paraliminal recordings, then it is very likely that you willincorporate a brainwave audio track to introduce an alpha, theta or delta state, or amixture of these.

The purpose of a brainwave track is toinduce an altered state of mind so that themessage track becomes more acceptableto the subconscious.

These tracks can be significantly morepowerful than simply using a relaxingsound track to achieve this state.

You will usually have to create and listento different versions of brainwave audiotracks until you are satisfied that you areobtaining the desired effect.

When doing this, you should be aware ofthe two possible consequences.

By listening to a brainwave track repeatedly, and even not in conjunction with themessage track, it can render you so relaxed that you are unable to focus clearly onbuilding your recording.

You may find yourself listening to the track and forgetting about what you wereintending to accomplish. For this reason, it is suggested that you restrict your exposureto any brainwave track to a minimum.

Even if the track you are creating is designed to move between different states (alpha, theta, delta), you need only listen to each segment for at most a few minutes.

The other consequence of listening is only relevant if you have a neurologicalcondition such as incidents of epilepsy or similar conditions.

If you have any form of neurological problem, it strongly advised that you consult

with your doctor before attempting to expose yourself to brainwave recordings.

Doing so may trigger seizures or other undesirable effects. This is not only important toyou, but also your potential recording listeners and you should provide a disclaimer inyour recording descriptions so that they are aware of this. This will also help protectyou from a legal perspective.

  • Side Effects of Mixing Message, Masking and Brainwave Audio Tracks

Designing and building the individualmessage, sound and possiblybrainwave audio tracks is a major stepforward in creating any type ofsubliminal, supraliminal or paraliminalaudio recording.

Additional time is necessarywhen mixing the tracks together andadjusting volume levels until you aresatisfied with the final recording version.

The side effects of listening to each component audio track become evenmore augmented and you should be aware of this.

It is important that you listen to the intermediate versions of your recording, but thisdoesnt mean that you need to do so all in one session. Pace yourself and review yourrecording components or revised versions in moderation.

In conclusion, building subliminal, supraliminal or paraliminal audio recordings canaffect you personally. But if you are aware of the potential side-effects and manageyourself appropriately, then these will not affect you undesirably.

As a subliminal creator, it is vital that you also be a listener and understand thepotential side-effects of what is being listened to.

Before you begin creating subliminals andmixing your message, sound, masking orbrainwave tracks, it is important that you adoptstandards with respect to their recordingcharacteristics.

Each audio component should be digitallyrecorded in the same manner so that it iseasier to mix your final recording and reusethem in future recordings.

Regardless of what method you use to createor mix the different audio clips needed for yourrecording, each has certain attributes relatingto the digital audio file type, sample size, number of channels and the sampling rate.

Even if a recorded audio clip was not recorded digitally, it will have to be converted todigital and the same characteristics should be used.

Why Use Standards to Build Subliminal Recordings?

It requires effort on your part to create each audio component and mix them togetherso that you end up with the type of recording desired. By adopting standards you willexert less effort in creating your recordings.

The reason for this is it will not benecessary to convert each one into acommon format before mixing them.

An advantage you gain by doing thisis time and the disadvantage is that itmay require additional storagespace.

Given a choice between the two, andthe continuing reduction in the cost

of memory and storage devices, it is much more cost effective to adopt a standardformat for each of your audio recording components.

There is another benefit in that when you decide to reuse an existing audiocomponent, such as a message clip or brainwave track, you will not need to convert itbefore using it in a new recording.

Standards for Building Subliminal Audio Files

There are different file formats that can store digital audio clips, but the suggested oneto use is the WAV format. This represents audio that is stored in an uncompresseddigital format and is widely accepted.

  • Storing your recorded orgenerated audio segments in acompressed format such as MP3is not initially recommended.

This should only be done after thefinal recording is built and onlyafter careful consideration as tocompression quality issues.

A WAV file is a digitalrepresentation of the audio clip,

but an MP3, OGG or other compressed format is actually a data file that describes to adigital player how to play the file.

They are completely different and any compressed file will have to be converted backinto WAV or another format in order for mixing.

Also, a WAV file retains the original audio characteristics of the clip, whereas acompressed version sounding virtually identical can result in a loss of audioinformation.

Each time you mix or combine different audio clips for your final recording, usingcompressed versions of them means that you are could be reducing the desired effectof your recording.

Using the WAV audio file type for all of your initial and intermediate recordingcomponents almost guarantees that the subliminal messages will be audible, and atthe desired low level of volume.

If you were to compress each of your audio segments, then it is possible that you couldlose some quality with respect to the subliminal messages as you progressively mixedthe audio components together.

Audio Digital Sampling Rates and Sample Size

A standard music CD or Compact Disc is a digital representation of the original andattempts to reproduce it in the best way. This is done by sampling the original analogrecording at extremely frequent intervals and converting those samples into numbersthat a computer sound processor can understand and reproduce.

In order to achieve the best sounding digital recording, both the number of times persecond the recording is sampled and the size of the sample are important.

For a CD recording, the sample rate is 44,100 times per second (44.1 KHz) and eachsample represents a number.

That number can have approximately 64,000 different values and is stored as a 16digit binary number.

It is suggested that you use the same sample rate and sample size when creatingeach of your recording audio segments. This will prevent any loss of quality as you

    progress to mixing your finalrecording.

Even though it may seem to beinefficient to store your recordingsegments using these attributes, itis likely to your benefit. Theadditional sound, masking oreven brainwave audio tracksmust be recorded at a highstandard.

Since you will have to eventually mix all of these components together, adopting astandard format will save you time.

  • Using Mono or Stereo Audio Channels

It is tempting to record or generate all your message, masking, sound or brainwavetracks using either one or two sound channels, but this should depend on the nature ofthe individual recording component.

Using both left and right channels for anyaudio segment of your recording meansthat it will require double the amount ofstorage space.

Only certain tracks or mixtures of themshould be built in stereo. For audiomessage clips, it is suggested that they becreated only using one track.

The reason for doing this is that they maybe later mixed in different manners for

another recording. You may choose to build an audio message segment using bothleft and right channels for one of your recordings.

If recorded in mono, then you can easily later combine them in any way desired, but ifthey were in stereo, then you would have to separate them. Doing this would only addadditional effort to what you want to accomplish.

The secondary advantage is that mono recording segments use only half as muchstorage as stereo audio segments.

To summarize, using a standard set of characteristics when creating your subliminal, supraliminal or paraliminal recordings will save you time and reduce any effortinvolved in converting between different audio formats.

It will also enable you to reuse any of the audio clips that you have already createdand may desire to use in creating a new recording.

The standards you may wish to adopt when creating your recording components aresuggested as follows:

Record basic and intermediate audio segments in the WAV formatSuggested digital sample size should be 16-bitsThe preferred sample frequency is 44,100 Hz.Basic audio message segments should be recorded in mono

Following these suggestions should only help you to create better recordings, butmore importantly to save storage space and to organize your audio recordingcomponents more efficiently.
