Angles An angle is formed by two rays or two
line segments that meet at a point. This point is called a vertex. (The plural of vertex is vertices.
There are four different kinds of angles.
right angle straight angle acute angle obtuse angle
Benchmark NumbersNumbers that help you estimate the number of objects without counting them, such as
25, 50. 100, and 1,000
Area• The number of square units needed
to cover a figure.
• To find the area of a figure, count the squares inside it.
• You add squares or multiply the number of squares across and the number going down to find area.

Length can be measured in: meters, millimeters, centimeters, miles, feet, and yards.

1 nickel = 5 cents or $0.05
1 dime = 10 cents or $0.10
1 quarter = 25 cents or $0.25
1 half dollar = 50 cents or $0.50
1 dollar ($) = 100 cents or $1.00

Ex. What number is 134 closest to?

It is a bigger number.
