Troubleshooting: Know what produces crap.

• Selecting the [Refresh Templates] option produces crap.

• Deleting a widget produces crap.

• Changing the [Professional Style] color produces crap.

• Copying and pasting text directly from a Word document using the default [Rich Text] editor produces crap.

• Adding code to an entry field using the [A] tool produces crap.


Selecting [Refresh Templates] produces crap.


• [Refresh Templates] restores default templates.

• Contact the course instructor.


Tip: Never confuse refreshing your website with refreshing your

templates.


A customized website brands your portfolio’s identity.



Deleting a widget produces crap.


• This action might produce a serious error message.

• Contact the course instructor.


• Open Design/Widgets/Edit a [Widget Set].• Drag and drop widget(s) from the [Installed

Widgets] column to the [Available Widgets] column.

• Save. • Refresh [ ]or update the website.

Tip: Uninstalling a widget removes it from the sidebar.



Widgets add functionality to your website.



Changing the [Professional Style] color produces crap.



Changing the color style, removes code from the

Stylesheet.

Tip: Restoring the missing code will restore your customized

banner.

•To restore your customized banner, copy and paste the following code to your Stylesheet:

<mt:Assets lastn="1" type="image" tag="@banner">#homepage-image { background-image: url(<$mt:AssetURL$>) !important;}</mt:Assets>}

•Save and Publish.


A customized banner defines your e-portfolio.


Copying and pasting from a Word document using the [Rich Text]

Tip: Select [Convert Line Breaks].

Tip: Select the [<A>] button on your toolbar before you add code.



Selecting [<A>] will embed objects.

•Movable Type Forum, a Q&A wiki, solves problems.

•The Composing Stick provides useful tutorials.

•Learning Movable Type Tutorials discusses recent updates and provides basic tutorials.
