Craigslist receives over 20 billion page views per month.

If used consistently, this site can produce top of mind awareness for your property, as well as

immediate leads.

Instructions:

1. Go to www.craigslist.org 2. Click on the city 3. Click on “post to classifieds” 4. Click on “housing offered” 5. Click on “apts/housing for rent” 6. Enter required information 7. Enter Headline/Body of Posting

You are encouraged to tailor ads to your current specials and/or post ads for specific available apartments. Here are some examples:

 

When you are putting the ad together, ask yourself what would catch your own attention if you were shopping for an apartment. Be sure to list unique features that will set you apart from the competition!

8. After entering text, follow the instructions to upload pictures. Make sure to include both interior and exterior shots, as well as pictures of the amenities. Also, keep in mind that the first picture should be changed with each ad posted in order to create more interest.

9. After you click post, you will receive a confirmation e-mail that you must approve before the ad goes live.

There should be at least 3 Craigslist postings per day and at least 5 per day if the property occupancy and/or trend is less than 90%. Also, be sure to search for your comps and stay up-to-date on their advertising.

Tip: Once you begin to post regularly, this process will take very little time and you will have fun creating eye-catching listings. If you are new to using Craigslist, try following the examples above until you are comfortable
