Farm Manager | Pataud i P as to ra l company
1981 - 1991
Oversee day to day operations of a 2500 acre farming operation at Metcalfe,
Victoria. Property carried 3500 Merino wethers and approximately 50 head
stud Poll Hereford cattle. Whilst primarily working alone for long periods of
time, it was also necessary to supervise general labour and shearing contractors
as the need and/or season dictated. Was heavily involved in the local
community too at this time as a member of the Kyneton Apex Club and
coach/manager of a senior women’s basketball team. Developed skills in
general maintenance whilst understanding and practicing basic animal
husbandry techniques.

1992 – 1995
Conducted numerous general, antiques & collectables and jewellery auctions in
Morwell and also Oakleigh. Dealt with a wide variety of clients in this time and
developed outstanding oral presentation abilities. Was responsible also for
assisting the business owners in stock control and setting up displays and liaising
with both vendors and buyers. Had some but minimal input in the office
environment but would assist with enquiries as the need arose.

Advertising Manager | S tock & Land new spaper
1995 - 2006
Commenced working for Stock & Land newspaper in November 1995 as a
casual telemarketer. In June 1996 I was offered the full time position of
Classified Advertising representative. I then took over the responsibility of
running the Property advertising section also. Later, I was appointed Assistant
Advertising Manager whilst still overseeing the Classified and Property
advertising sections of the newspaper. In 2002 I was appointed Advertising
Sales Manager for the paper, overseeing seven sales and production staff and
reporting directly to the General Manager of Rural Press Victoria, now a
division of Fairfax Media Limited. Whilst in the position of Advertising Sales
Manager, the publication grew in revenue and circulation and in 2004 I was
invited by the then Managing Director of Rural Press, Mr Brian McCarthy
(former CEO of Fairfax Media), to accompany him and several senior
executives to the United States on a training and development seminar to assist
the recently acquired US arm of the Rural Press business.

2006 – 2010
After leaving Rural Press in May 2006 to have a break from the advertising
world, I enjoyed the opportunity of spending more time with my children and
run the home whilst my wife continued in her roll with full time employment.
During this time also I was able to undertake more volunteer work at
Templestowe Valley Primary School, assisting with various building and
beautification projects and working in the school’s canteen. I served on the
School Council for a number of years and when my second child finished at the
school in 2008, I was in the position of School Council President.
I was able to devote more time to coaching and assisting in various sporting
clubs. I have coached a number of sides for the Bulleen Boomers. I am Team
Manager for the Bulleen Templestowe Junior Football Club Colts side (5th year
with this group as Team Manager) and Girls side and I served as Vice President
and for the club in 2009 and 2010 and am currently Marketing & Advertising
coordinator and magazine publisher 2009 – present.

Templestowe Valley Primary School. 2004 – current
Coach of two team and coach/mentor for the Hooptime competition.
Coached my son’s team from 2004 to 2008. Ten seasons, nine times in finals, seven grand final appearances and five premierships. Two time State
Hooptime coach.
Bulleen Boomers coach. U9 premiership coach. Team subsequently appeared in two finals thereafter.
Bulleen Boomers coach. Girls team coach for six seasons with numerous finals appearances including Runners Up.
Bulleeen Boomers coach. U15 premiership coach and two seasons thereafter
with all finals appearances.
Doncaster Doncats. Team Manager/stand in coach for a couple of seasons. Warrandyte Redbacks. Two seasons as Team Manager. Appointed as an U18
girls coach for 2012/2013 Summer Season.
Warrandyte Basketball Association. Court announcer for the BigV competition, association President – current.

June 2010 – July 2012
Invited back on a casual four days per week basis to look after Special
Publications, commercial advertising opportunities and develop new
opportunities for Stock & land newspaper and other stand alone publications.
Have now been offered a permanent position commencing in new financial
year. Reporting directly to the General Manager, my role is to maintain and
grow the varied and numerous special publications produced at the site &
generate commercial advertising income for Stock & Land newspaper and
develop new initiatives.

July 2012 – July 2014
Special Projects Manager Full Time position. Responsible for the running of all
Stock & Land newspaper special publications plus new initiatives. Autonomous
position developing new opportunities for the publications whilst servicing
existing client base. In 2013 I took part in the Fairfax Mentoring Program as a
Mentor. In 2014 I trained the new Classifieds advertising representative.

July 2014 – current
Coordinating all existing Stock & Land newspaper special publications and
generating new initiatives. Sell local display advertising for Stock & Land
newspaper. Manage the two sales staff and coordinate production of the
quarterly Tasmanian Farmer newspaper. Act on behalf of General Manager in
advertising and administration capacity when he is on leave. In 2015 I will be
attending the Manager as Coach training module in Sydney and am also again
acting as a Mentor in the Fairfax Mentoring program. Currently servicing major
customers and work in close with sales manager and group sales manager.
