Strategic Focus
How to make CPR/AED easy for anyone in a Domestic Setting,
Even is they DON’T KNOW how to perform the procedures.
Chain of Survival1. Early Access: Calling 999 to activate emergency
medical services (EMS).2. Early CPR: Buys time until defibrillator and EMS are
available.3. Early Defibrillation: Shock to heart can restore
heartbeat.4. Early Advanced Care: Paramedics provide advanced
cardiac life support to casualties of sudden cardiac arrest. This includes providing IV fluids, medication and advanced airway devices.
Assumptions With Concepts• These products are being used after EMS
(999 or 112) have been called, and an ambulance is on the way.
• It may not have been portrayed on all models, but like an AED they will have audio cues to walk you through the product use.
• They are to be used unitll a paramedic relieves you from it.
Piston Mechanism• 2 out of my 3 concepts use the piston type mechanism to push
down on a casualties chest to provide compressions.• Either Electronic or Pneumatic.
Air enters at the top of the cylinder
Spring Recoils to bring piston back up
Concept 1
• A device that uses AED pads to provide a defibrillation shock, as well as using a piston type mechanism to provide compressions.
Concept 2
• A Ventilator shaped Head rest/neck support.
• It opens up the airway and provides breaths so rescuer can concentrate on compressions.
Concept 3
• A device that is placed beside the collapsed casualty.• This machine then provides the proper compressions for the
specific age; Adult: at least 2 inches, child: up to 2 inches.
