Our ambition and policy is to protect the asset value whilst trading the ship in a cost effective manner consistent with the constant care of life of our personal, safety at sea and environment. For each topic enabling the enhancement of our safety and environmental performance, a set of objectives are defined yearly. This policy defines itself in following fields:  Operate vessels safely an d avoi d any human injury or loss o f l ife,  Ensure healthy and safe working conditions on board and ashore,  Maintain efficiently the vessels with no compromise to safety,  Reduce our environmental foot print and prevent any environmental incident or marine pollution,  Minimize all risks raised by the transport o f contai ners, goods and cargo operations,  Foster every employee ashore and seafarers to respect our company commitments,  Implement a continuous improvement behavior. In the frame of above described core policy, we undertake to:  Comply with all mandatory requirements and further enhance our current management sy stem with Quality Management initiatives, taking also into account specific stakeholders needs,  Assess regul arly health and safety risks and environmental impacts, and perform audits of our compliance to legal and other requirements,  Ensure continuous shore-based support,  Anchor a safety, quality and environmental culture to staff w orldwide ashore and onboard ships, in the daily operations as well as in crisis situations,  Develop all our staff’ skills and competencies by providing them with the necessary resources and ensure each member of our workforce are competent to do their work,  Reinforce all initiatives designed to enhance our process,  Continuously improve our safety, quality and environmental management system Ludovic GERARD, CMA Ships Executive Vice President Dominique BALMITGERE, Vice President Safety Security & Environment  1 s  February 2014
