Libraries, museums and galleries

• This is the first time comparable data on cultural engagement at the local level has been collected and published.

• Further detailed analysis of the data will be done to examine the correlation between class, race, deprivation, spending levels, and the proximity of museums and libraries themselves and will follow spring 2009.

• The figures break this down area by area, and region by region. An initial analysis of the data suggests a close link between library spending levels per head and participation data.
