Every Friday, Team 610 holds a weekly Design Review. During a Design Review, each subsystem group selects a representative to speak about and explain the subsystem they have been working on. After discussing what they have been working on for the past few days, the rest of the team then asks questions and makes suggestions about how the subsystem might be improved. The weekly Design Review is an

integral part of a successful build season for our team. It gives every member on the team a chance to understand and contribute to each part of the robot. In a similar manner to our weekly Design Reviews, Team 610 holds daily Stand-up Meetings. These meetings are much like our Design Reviews, but are generally much shorter. During our Stand-up Meetings, the goal is more for every member of the team to be kept up to date on our robot’s progress every single day. Overall, without our weekly Design Reviews and our daily Stand-up Meetings, Team 610 would not see the same success that we always have, as they are the backbone of our motivation and direction during our six and a half week long journey to building a competitive and incredible robot.

Design Review

After completing a plethora of prototypes, with many different approaches to each, we need to do it all again. Reiteration is a major part of the design process. Our prototypes are heavily tested, flaws are identified, then they’re sent back to the drawing board for improvement. Things are constantly being reengineered, removed, reinforced, or reimagined. The continual refining of a product is what produces a top-quality end result. We know the first version will never be the best, and that undying perseverance will yield optimal results.

Week 2: Reiteration

Engineers of the Week

The engineers of the week for week 2 are Grade 12 students Jacob Kachura (below) and Jake Fisher (right)! Congratulations, guys!

Jacob and Jake have taken charge of designing our intake. With 7 years of FRC knowledge between them, they’ve researched past games with similar objectives, and used past successes to inspire their design. Their innovative method promises to give us an edge when acquiring the 2ft. balls. As leaders of the team, they set a good example of taking ownership of a project and thinking outside the box. We have seen great things from a wide variety of students in such a short period of time!

!!!Saturday Lunch Sponsors Needed!

We are hoping to get 3-4 families to sponsor each week instead of just 1 family. This will give our boys something other than pizza every week! !

Please contact [email protected] if you are interested in sponsoring a meal.

Special thanks to our brand new sponsor, EMC, for their support!
