Total ProductionIn 2010, $199.3 million was generated through the county’s agricultural and forestry production sector.
Agricultural ProductionPoultry and egg production was the largest agricultural commodity, contributing 56.2 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.
The second largest was cattle, which contributed 7.3 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.
The third largest was peanuts, which contributed 5.2 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production. Covington County ranked third in tree nut farming, and fifth in dairy cattle and milk production.

Forestry ProductionTimberland accounted for 72.0 percent of the surface land area of Covington County. Total forestry production contributed 11.2 percent of the county’s total agricultural and forestry production.
Overall Contributions to Covington CountyCovington County’s agricultural, forestry, and related industries generated 4,369 full- and part-time jobs, representing 24.8 percent of the county’s total workforce (17,650 jobs).
