1. Introduction

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the novel coronavirus. This new virus and disease were

unknown to the population before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.

The first case in Nigeria was confirmed on Friday, February 27, 2020 in Lagos in a business Italian traveler

who arrived Nigeria on February 25, 2020 and became symptomatic on February 26, 2020.

Ekiti State COVID-19 Response Hub gives real time information and insight on how Ekiti State government

is responding to, monitoring and curtailing the spread of the widely deadly Corona Virus Disease (COVID-

19) in the state.

This Ekiti State COVID 19 Response Hub User Guide provides step by step guidelines on how to make use

of the response hub. This guide is provided for the general public for easy use and navigation within the

system

3. Home Page

The home page gives the system overview; it also shows how the system is being structured and provides

access links to other pages of the hub.

To access the home page, perform the following steps:

1. Launch a browser, enter the url: https://www.covid19.ekitistate.gov.ng and press “Enter” as shown

in Figure 1 below:

2. System displays the home page at the background page; click Cancel button on the Emergency

Lines page as highlighted in Figure 2 below

4. Dashboard

This page displays the summary of Ekiti State COVID 19 information at a glance such as case(s) summary,

case(s) distribution, isolation center details, all the local governments in the state, test centers nationwide,

medical facilities etc.

To access the Dashboard page, follow these steps below:

1. From the home page, click on Dashboard menu as highlighted in the Figure 3 below:

4.1 Legend

The legend displays what each icon represent on the map; to view the legend, perform the following steps:

1. From the dashboard page, click legend third icon at top right as highlighted in the Figure 5 below:

4.2 Layers The layers show different attributes that are present on the map; to view the layer, perform the following

steps:

1. From the dashboard page, click layer icon as highlighted in the Figure 7 below:

4.3 Search Engine The Search engine is used to do search on the map; to do a search, perform the following steps:

1. From the dashboard page, click search icon as highlighted in the Figure 9 below:

2. System pops up a search box; enter the keyword to search for in the search box and press “Enter”

as shown in Figure 10 below:

4.4 Local Government Area This Local Government Areas Panel Expansion gives full information about Local Government Areas; to

view the Local Government information, perform the following steps:

1. From the dashboard page, click Expand button on the LGAs panel as highlighted in the Figure 12

4.5 Isolation Center This Panel gives information on Isolation center; to view Isolation Center, click Expand button on Isolation

Center panel, and perform the following steps:

1. From the dashboard page, click Expand button on the Isolation Center panel as highlighted in the

Figure 15 below:

4.6 Health Facilities This Panel gives information about the state health facilities centers; to view health facilities center,

perform the following steps:

1. From the Isolation Center page, click the Health Facilities tab at the down left of the page as

4.9 LGAs Affected This panel gives the details of the Local Government Areas within the state affected by COVID 19. To view

the affected LGAs by COVID 19, perform the following steps:

This panel displays COVID 19 cases by date, to view the cases by date, perform the following steps:

5.4 Self- Assessment Test This page provides an interactive platform where some questions related to COVID 19 symptoms would be

asked, advice is given on what to do based on the answers provided. To perform self-assessment on COVID

19, follow these steps:

1. From the home page, place cursor on Useful Resources menu and click Self-Assessment Test sub

menu as highlighted in Figure 55 below:

6 Report a Case

This page allows the citizen to report a suspected case of COVID 19 disease in their area to the state

government for proper action to be taken.

To report any suspected case, the following steps needed to be taken:

1. From the home page, click Report a Case menu as highlighted in the Figure 61 below:

7.3 Donation Form This page provides a form that capture the details of the donor and the list of items to be donated. To make

donation, perform the following steps:

1. From the home page, place the cursor on EKSG Response Tab to the “Donation” sub menu and then

click “Donation Form “as highlighted in the Figure 69 below:

7.4 Online Funds Donation This page allows the donors to donate fund electronically via online payment gateway at comfort of their

zones. To donate fund via online payment, perform the following steps:

1. From the home page, place the cursor on EKSG Response Tab to the “Donation” sub menu and

then click “Online Funds Donation “as highlighted in the Figure 73 below:

2. System displays the Online Funds Donation Form Page as shown in the Figure 74 below:

3. Fill the form appropriately and click Pay Now button as highlighted in the Figure 75 below:

4. System redirects to online payment gateway; where the details of the card is requested to

5. Enter the card details such as card number, expiry date, CVV and click Pay button as highlighted in

6. System redirects to card issuer for authorization page, click continue button to proceed with the

7. System redirects to Payment Authorization page, select the mode of authorization and click

9. Enter the secret codes send to your phone if “Soft Token” is selected, else enter generated code

This page displays news, images and videos of COVID 19 disease related activities.

8.1 News Page This page shows the news items about recent events, activities, and generally any topics of interest related

to COVID 19 pandemic disease and what the Government is doing to curtain this disease.

To view the news, perform the following steps the home page,

1. From the home page, place the cursor on News and Gallery menu and click the “News” sub menu

as highlighted in the Figure 85 below:

This is an important feature of the system. The most commonly asked questions and insinuations about

epidemic diseases are listed here with responses provided against each of the questions. The FAQs are

categorized into two sub menus, which are:

General Public

Healthcare Professionals

General Public: - This page contains all the relevant questions and answers related to current epidemic

disease that would be beneficial to the general public.

Healthcare Professionals: This segment is for the healthcare workers to provide them with relevant tips

that are necessary to carry out their roles and responsibilities professionally.



To view the FAQs page, perform the following steps:

10 Live Chat

This page gives the community the opportunity to easily interact or communicate with the government

and his team through instant messaging. But if there is no active agent online to chat with; you will leave

a message and system compiled the inquiry as email and send a mail to appropriate channels.

To chat online or leave message depending on availability of an active agent online. If there is no active

agent online, leave a message will be used. To “Leave a message”, perform the followings steps:

1. From the home page, click “Leave a message” menu as highlighted in the Figure 98 below:

chat to receive the queries and inquiries coming in the event that there is no active agent online to respond

inquiries in real time.



11 Conclusion

This Ekiti State COVID 19 Response Hub User Guide provides all the necessary guidelines and support

needed to navigate through the system. The User Guide is very simple, clear, and well explanatory for user

to easily understand and use.
