NHSN News Flash on 7/27/2021• Recently, we identified a defect in the NHSN
application that hindered facilities with only Level 1 SAMS access from modifying weekly COVID-19 vaccination data.
• However, this error was resolved as of 7/23/21 and users should no longer have any issues with data submission.
26
Level 3 Access • Current Users: email the NHSN user
support [email protected] with “Enhancing Data Security” in the subject line your request.
• Newly added Users: they receive emails from both NHSN and SAMS with directives.
› They need to respond promptly or their window for submitting their SAMS Level 3 documents expires.
› Check your SPAM/Junk Folders
TIP: See: Increasing LTCF SAMS Level Access to NHSN27
NHSN Issues We Are Seeing• Not reporting COVID-19 modules consistently on
the same day of the week. › Therefore the requirement for ‘every 7 day’s’ is not met
• Not reporting Cumulative Vaccination data, each week, before Sunday 11:59 p.m.
› Don’t forget to update the data if there are changes in the reporting week (Monday – Sunday) – do updates the following week.
