Thank you for taking the time to read my application. My name is Steven Anderson, and I have a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University. Since I began my college career, I have found my passion in understanding government and the importance it has in our society. In my time at Eastern Illinois I have advanced my research skills in my field of study. Eastern Illinois has recognized my work in the Eastern Illinois University Political Science Review, which I later served on the editorial board. My research has earned two scholarships, including the H. Edward Brazil Award for use of Qualitative Methods and the Political Science Graduate Student Award. I believe the study of governance to be crucial to our understanding of politics and policy. My time in school has been spent learning to conduct research and analyzing the impact of policy from local to global levels. I have worked on Illinois political campaigns as well as consulted for a state senator on policy issues. I am heavily involved in social media platforms as they instrumental in gathering information and staying ahead in research and development. Research has become a passion which I hope to further explore and develop over the course of my career. My time at Eastern Illinois University has helped me better understand the importance of policy issues in daily life and the need to understand the actions of

society. In my time at Eastern Illinois I have advanced my research skills in my field of study.
