Telematics for Federal Agency Fleets

Executive Order 13693 requires, by March 19, 2017, deployment of vehicle telematics for all new passenger and light duty vehicle acquisitions and for medium duty vehicles where appropriate. Additional guidance on this requirement is published in the Guidance for Federal Agencies on E.O. 13693—Federal Fleet Management and the Federal Management Regulation Bulletin on Telematics on the Federal Fleet. FAST and Vehicle Level Data: Discussion, Q&A, and Problem Solving

Federal agencies are required to report information about their motor vehicle fleet at the individual vehicle level by Fall 2017. FAST currently supports this capability. Most Federal agencies are currently migrating their fleet information systems and their data reporting processes to support this requirement. In this session, the FAST technical team will facilitate a discussion with Federal fleet managers and their fleet system technical POCs. This session will answer questions, discuss challenges, and cover topics such as reporting strategies, data formats, testing and troubleshooting. This session is geared toward headquarters-level fleet managers involved in managing or supporting the migration to vehicle-level data reporting and technical system POCs supporting those efforts.
