The major highlights are as follows: Mayo College declared Best Delegation at Doon School MUN 2017. Mayo College declared third in All India Ranking at IPSC Indore. Shashwat Mimani was the most outstanding MUNer of this Academic year. MUN activity also included the Youth Parliament at New Delhi and Military History Seminar at Dehradun. Mayo college delegation was declared the Best Delegation for the year 2017, much to our pride and happiness. The 3-day intellectually-illuminating conference witnessed immaculate research, cult lobbying, and intense debates. DSMUN-17 was a great learning experience for our delegates. The following boys received the awards in the conference from 18th to 20th August, 2017 at Doon School, Dehradun. Shaswat Mimani and Abhyuday Pratap Singh were adjudged the outstanding delegates. Doon School Model United Nations Conference - 2017 I.P.S.C. Model MUN Daly College, Indore Mayo College Girls' School : Model United Nations Conference 2017 Saharsh Bajla received Honourable Mention. Ten boys participated in this conference from 28th to 30th September, 2017 at Daly College Indore. We stood 3rd in the All India Rankings. Shaswat Mimani won the Best Delegate Award. Bhavya Sheron, Saharsh Bajla and Abhishek Purohit received the Verbal Mention. Rohit Chander was awarded Special Mention. The session of MCGS MUN was held from 26th to 29th April, 2017 and twenty five boys took part in this Conference, making it the largest delegation in the Conference. Seven committees were simulated. Our delegates participated in all the committees. Gaj Singh was nominated as Rapporteur in a Lok Sabha Committee. Mayo delegation did us proud and won the following awards.

Indian Music

In September 2017, the All India IPSC Cultural Fest for music was jointly hosted by Welham Boys' and Girls' School, Dehradun. Following were the laurels won by our students in the Fest:

Our Indian Music Orchestra secured the first position.Rishab Raghuvanshi was adjudged the most promising Light Classical Solo Vocalist.Rajveer Singh and Rishab Raghuvanshi won the title of the most promising Classical Vocal Duo. In July 2017, Mayo College participated in a music competition hosted by Kala Ankur, Ajmer. Rishab Raghuvanshi stood 1st in the Senior Solo Vocal Category. He was awarded the title of Swar Ratna.

In September 2017, Sixty six students appeared for the Indian Music Examination, under the aegis of Pracheen Kala Kendra, Chandigarh. Raghav Agarwal and Tejasv Mehra secured the highest score of 82%.

In April 2017, the Happy Night Entertainment Programme was hosted by Mayo College, Ajmer. Indian Orchestra and Penta Songsters (College Choir) mesmerized the audience with their performances.On the occasion of Independence Day Celebrations and Janmasthmi Celebrations, the

Penta Songsters (School Choir) presented some excellent renditions. In February, 2018, a delegation from Lycee Michel Rodange, Luxembourg visited Mayo College and Mayo College Girls' School. A cultural programme was presented before the delegates, showcasing the rich culture and music of our country.

I Parliament Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Contemporary Studies, New Delhi

Nine boys participated in this conference at Bhawan Vidhyalaya Chandigarh from 4th to 6th August, 2017. Shaswat Mimani won the Best Delegate Award in a committee and Bhavya Sheron receiveda Verbal Mention.

Twelve boys participated in this MUN from 18th to 20th August, 2017 at Cathederal &John Cannon school, Mumbai.

Seventy boys took part in this Intra MUN from 11th to 13th October, 2017. It was completely a student initiative with two committees on Uniform Civil Code and South China Sea Crises.

Abhyuday Pratap Singh participated in this Conference in his individual capacity.

The Welhem Boys' School Dehradun organised a seminar for the first time at school level.Eight boys of our institution attended this seminar from 6th to 7th October, 2017. There was no competition but a lot of discussion took place with follow up reports.

Nine boys from our institution participated at this Mock parliament from 6th to 9th March, 2017. The agenda of the parliament was ‘Electoral Reforms’ The Youth Agenda for Strengthening Indian Parliamentary Democracy” Bhavya Sheron was elected as Narendra Modi, the PM of India.

Genesis Model United Nations Conference 2017

Shashwat Mimani was declared the best delegate in Security Council.Avyukt Sachdeva and Bhavya Sheron were declared Outstanding Delegates in their committees. Sarvagya Mehrortra received an Honorable Mention in International Press.

In the cultural evening Niket Mehra and his group mesmerized the audience with their melodious voice.

Twenty boys participated in this conference from 28th to 30th July, 2017. The following were the highlights:

Pranav Sood received the Consolation Prize in Painting at the State Level (Jaipur) organised by Govt. of India (National Campaign on Energy Conservation).Students of the College demonstrated their talent in Wall painting at the GLO Ground Wall, Ajmer, organised by Mr. Puneet Chawla (DRM, North Western Railway, Ajmer Division) and received the 3rd prize.Mantavya Singh and Drona Sharma were selected as part of the Best Fifteen participants by INTACH

(Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage), Ajmer Chapter in February 2018.Wall painting workshop was attended by students of Mayo College in July and August 2017, organised by Nagar Nigam, Ajmer.A demonstration of Transparent Watercolour was presented by Mr. Apurba Sengupta (Ex Professor in Department of Indian Painting, Govt. College of Art & Craft, Kolkata) to the boys of Class XI in the B.C. Guin Art School, Mayo College. Boys of Mayo College participated in the 4-day Workshop on Ceramics that was organised by MCGS, in which the main resource person was Mrs. Payal Ghorui.

Math Society

Mathematics – the Queen of the Sciences and the King of the Arts - provides opportunities to the Primary and Middle School to have a lot of fun activities, learn practical applications, remove their phobia for the subject in their formative years and help them develop confidence in the subject.The Club provides a platform to the children to enjoy, appreciate and acquire basic skills in the subject by organizing competitive group activities, puzzles and visits to the College Museum and Technical Skills Development Centre.The Subject has moved beyond the Classrooms to explore our verdant Campus as the new Classroom. It is not only exciting for the children but also helps them acquire real life skills. The Math Club is a place for the children to explore and enrich their knowledge in the subject, develop a keen sense for design, appreciate intrinsic aesthetics and

mathematical beauty without which the world would cease to be the interesting and magical place that it is. The Club also organised a Math Expo and several lectures by eminent resource persons and faculty members during this academic year. The Club also initiated the children into online courses to help them enhance their skills and explore the limitless possibilities that the subject offers.
