My reason for existing as a leader remains a desire to improve the situation experienced by those under my leadership. As a leader, my core value extends from the teachings of Jesus as recorded in the twentieth chapter of the book of Matthew which shows a contrast between two leadership styles. Potentates of the Gentiles utilize excessive power over others, but whoever becomes a leader amid (the followers of Jesus) will act in service of others (Matthew 20:25&26, NIV). I apply three methods to sustain my core as a leader: daily small acts of servitude to others; work projects designed to improve associate experiences in completing tasks; and participating in volunteer endeavors (both locally and internationally). These acts of service to others energize my core and empower my will to tackle larger problems. Additionally the act of sharing information with others, particularly when the information comprises the probability of helping the recipient provides personal energy and excitement keeping me focused and alert. – Excerpt from Purpose Statement by Stephen C.
