From the PresidentGreetings!

We are glad you have inquired about our school, Covenant Theological Seminary (CTS). We have providedthis mini-catalog to introduce you to some of what we offer at CTS. We have a traditional catalog, but weare also adding new courses which utilize materials from the world’s largest Bible school, the InternationalSchool of Ministry (ISOM).

In 2005, after responding to the Lord’s call to go to Cuba and discovering the needs and desires of untrainedministers there, we began searching for suitable materials in Spanish to train them, and in doing so wediscovered ISOM which is the most outstanding basic training program we have ever seen. ISOM is theworld’s largest video Bible school with over 12,000 training sites in 141 countries and in more than 60languages. Through this exceptional curriculum the Lord gave me a vision and desire to build 30 coursesfrom their program which would carry students toward higher degrees.

Upon receiving permission from ISOM and the seminary with which I had been working, thirty (30) courseswere developed. However, due to financial issues, the door to cooperation with that seminary ended. Then,in 2007, the possibility of taking over CTS (an already existing seminary) presented itself. After one year ofmeeting with their leadership and seeking the Lord’s will in the matter, CTS was transferred over to us sowe could continue to carry on and expand the vision the Lord gave us as well as continue their work andlegacy, thus adding value to all.

We are now available to offer students courses built upon the ISOM program as well as other conventionalcourses. In either case, ALL are excellent! Browse through this presentation. We look forward to helpingyou fulfill your educational goals and spiritual calling.

Our seminary is devoted to the purpose oftraining already-committed believers for alifetime of productive service to the Lord JesusChrist and His Church. Our courses are Bible-centered and our commitment is to providespiritual growth for ministers, thereby preparingthem for the work of the ministry through thepower of the Holy Spirit.

Covenant Theological Seminary was foundedupon the goal to “equip the saints to do the workof the ministry,” as well as honor and recognizeministers for their labors with the main GOAL toDUPLICATE ourselves and the materials for thetraining of ministers, just as Jesus commandedus in Matthew 28:19-20, and as did the ApostlePaul in 2 Timothy 2:2.

We believe the quality of preparation for ourstudents is far beyond that of most seminariesmainly because our materials deal with thepersonal growth of the minister, rather than justknowledge about the ministry, or just themessage. In other words, our main objective is toprepare the minister so that he or she would livethe message, rather than just preach it.

This is the heart of CTS.

StatementIn these last days, it is imperative that men andwomen, who have been called by God into Christianservice, be prepared properly by using all of theadvantages and resources at their disposal in order tobe prepared to meet the challenges of the world.

The administration of Covenant Theological Seminarybelieves that two of the greatest advantages availableto God's people are the presence and power of God,the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God. We believe Godis emphatic when He says in His Word to "Study toshow thyself approved unto God a workman thatneeded not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Wordof Truth." (II Timothy 2:15 KJV)

Covenant Theological Seminary purposes to trainstudents in and for evangelical Christian ministry.Furthermore, students from various evangelicaldenominations may enjoy academic freedom andChristian fellowship.

All degrees of Covenant Theological Seminary are ofan ecclesiastical nature, and whether granted orconferred, are in the restricted area of religion withthe special purpose of preparing persons to work inthe area of religion, whether educational orministerial; they are not designed to be used in generalacademic circles.

Max and Judy Flynn have been married for over thirty years, and they are parents of four daughters and eight grandchildren.

Dr. Flynn is the founder of East Carolina School of Ministry in Greenville, NC, which was initially established in 1984 andoperating through 1988, then later being re-established in 2003 and functioning continuously since that time. In January2001, he became a facilitator and instructor with Jacksonville Theological Seminary, establishing schools in Raleigh andGreenville. Then, in 2003 he also became the North Carolina representative for Southern Bible Institute and Seminary ofAugusta, GA, and was invited to be an International Board Member of Revelation Message Bible College in Jacksonville, FL.

Additionally in 2000, Dr. Flynn began his international ministry in Africa and the United Kingdom ministering andestablishing training schools which was preparatory training, for in 2005 his ministry was extended to Cuba. There heassisted in establishing a Bible college to create training centers in the nation of Cuba and other Spanish nations beyond.

Complimenting that experience is his charge over a Regional Center for the International School of Ministry (ISOM) whichalso equips Spanish-speaking nations with duplicable Bible training materials.

In 2008, he was appointed President and CEO of Covenant Theological Seminary (CTS) to extend, as well as to carry on theinfluence and legacy of three other seminary presidents: Dr. Robert G. Witty, founder of Luther Rice Seminary, Jacksonville,FL, the late Dr. Harold Vick, founder of Jacksonville Theological Seminary, and Dr. Barney W. English, founder of CTS inWilmington, NC. CTS has been serving the Body of Christ since 1990.

Dr. Flynn was first ordained in 1973 in an independent charismatic church in Jacksonville, Florida, then in 1985 wasordained by The International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. He is currently the senior pastor of Radiant Life FoursquareChurch in Greenville and superintendent of the North Carolina Coastal Division of Foursquare Churches. He holds a Bachelorof Divinity from Luther Rice Seminary in Atlanta, GA, a Master of Theology and Doctor of Divinity with Southern BibleInstitute and Seminary in Augusta, GA, and doctoral degrees in Religious Education and Theology from JacksonvilleTheological Seminary in Jacksonville, FL.

His life verse and call is 2 Timothy 2:2: which is the Lord’s strategy to not only equip people for the work of the

ministry, but also to duplicate and multiply their ministry by equipping others who will then disciple others.

Above all, he is a spiritual father and a “pastor’s pastor” with a shepherd’s heart who equips the Body of Christ and boldlypreaches and teaches the Word of God.
