Your family may have told you that the General Society of Mayflower Descendants is working
very hard to have the United States Mint issue coins commemorating the 400th Anniversary of
the landing of the Pilgrims. Texas Juniors can help to make this happen by simply writing letters
to your congressmen, asking them to support House Bill 2980 and Senate Bill 1715. The easiest
way is to send them an e-mail. Our General Society of Mayflower Descendants have made it
very easy to contact our legislators, by writing the letters for us.
To open the letter to your Representative: click the link the name “Representative” to the left,

town at the bottom of the letter.

The U.S. Mint only makes two commemorative coins each year and there are other applications for coins. In order
to have a coin to commemorate the year 2020, we need 287 U.S. Congress members and 67 U.S. Senators to sign
on as co-sponsors for our coin. We can do this … Mayflower Juniors Rock!

Things Juniors should know … Would you like to be known for having designed the Texas Mayflower Junior tee shirt? Start planning! All you will need is an idea sketched onto paper, then the layout will be done by a tee shirt company in Texas. A Texas Mayflower Junior designed the logo for the Pilgrim William White Society! In the next issue, we will feature the logo that he submitted and a photo of this talented designer who is eleven years old! The lovo must relate to our Pilgrim ancestors, the Mayflower, cousins or Pllymouth Colony. Send your logo sketch to: [email protected] The deadline for you to submit your tee shirt logo ideas is March 1, 2016, the same deadline as our “Hit Me with a Brick” Composition Competition!
Houston Colony Juniors will be helping the less fortunate by having a food drive at the Compact Luncheon on November 22. If you would like to participate, please bring a non-perishable food item and come ready to help pack boxes to be delivered to the Houston Food Bank.
