• HFC3M: Food & Culture This course focuses on the flavours, aromas, cooking techniques, foods, and cultural traditions of world cuisines. Students will demonstrate the ability to cook with ingredients and equipment from a variety of cultures, compare food-related etiquette in many countries and cultures, and explain how Canadian food choices and traditions have been influenced by other cultures.

• PLF4M: Healthy Active Living Leadership Students will explore the benefits of lifelong participation in active recreation and healthy leisure and develop the leadership and coordinating skills needed to plan, organize, and safely implement recreational events and other activities related to healthy, active living.

• CGD3MF: Regional Geography (French Immersion) Students will explore a specific region’s environmental, socio-economic, and cultural characteristics and will investigate issues related to natural resources, economic development and sustainability, population change, globalization, and quality of life. Students will apply the concepts of geographic thinking and the geographic inquiry process, including spatial technologies.

• CGW4UF: World Issues (French Immersion) Students will address the challenge of creating a more sustainable and equitable world, exploring such issues as economic disparities, threats to the environment, globalization, human rights, and quality of life, while analyzing government policies and international agreements.

• ETS4U: Studies in Literature This course is for students with a special interest in literature and literary criticism. The course may focus on themes, genres, time periods, or countries. Students will analyse a range of forms and stylistic elements of literary texts and respond personally, critically, and creatively to them. They will also assess critical interpretations, write analytical essays, and complete an independent study project.

• You have 2 compulsory and 6 elective courses to choose. Electives should be chosen based on Post-Secondary goals

• You are required to take 8 courses over the school year

• Grade 11 students may not request a “spare” unless there are special circumstances to discuss with Guidance

• You must take your final compulsory course (English) and up to 7 electives**

• You are required to take a minimum of 3 courses per semester.

online course in lieu of 1 classroom course per semester.

• Online courses can provide access to courses not usually taught here.

• Note the additional requirements of being a self-directed, highly organized and motivated learner. Online courses are not easier!!

current GRADE 12 students• ensure you will have 30 credits for graduation in June

• ensure you have enrolled in all necessary pre-req courses for chosen post-secondary program

• ensure you are completing any final required Volunteer Hours and submitting tracking sheets to Mrs. Brousseau in Student Services

• use Career Cruising to remove yourself from next year's school year by selecting your destination under NON RETURNING STUDENTS. Choose to add a 5th year column and then select:

– 1NTCOL (“I’m going to college! YAY!”)– 1NTWOR (“I’m going to go work! YAY!”)– 1NTUNI (“I’m going to university! YAY!”)– 1NTOTH (“I’m going to do something else! YAY!”)
