<Course Registration Procedure and Confirmation>Your course registration can be confirmed on April 27 after registering for courses.

If you need the approval of your study plan (registered courses at HU) from your home institution, proceed it after receiving your course registration confirmation.

It is your responsibility to confirm the guideline of the credit transfer at your home institution.

Hitotsubashi University gives a “ – “ (bar), instead of a “W” (withdrawal), for courses which a student stops attending in the middle of the semester. For more details, see the Grading section.

<Minimum Credit Requirement for UG Exchange Students>An UG exchange student is required to register for a minimum of 12 credits for a period of two quarters, e.g., Spring and Summer Quarters combined, plus Summer Intensive Courses.More details of requirements will be explained in the Course Registration Guideline for Exchange Students (pink sheet) section.

For graduate exchange students, go to your graduate school’s office as soon as possible in order to receive the course registration information.

It is your responsibility to confirm the minimum requirement of the course registration imposed by your home institution for your exchange period at HU.

In principal, all the courses at HU are open to exchange students except some courses listed on the Guideline (Pink Sheet) updated for the AY2018-19.

Course Registration Guideline for Exchange Students

Beside 12 credits minimum to register, the following rule must be observed.

3) In every term, students shall register for courses with a total of at least six 105-minute slots of class time per week, in order to fulfill the requirement based on Article 7, Clause 1, Item 2 of the Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Act to study for at least 10 hours of classes per week. Note that exchange students with Japanese nationality shall be treated in the same way.

#1 CreditsAn UG student is required to register for a minimum of 12 credits for throughout the semester (2 quarters combined).

#2 Class timeAn UG student is required to register for a minimum of 6 slots of class time per quarter. 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th

Course Registration Day is the only day UG exchange students can register for courses.Bring your Course Registration Form (hard copy) to the Conference Room, 1st

Floor, LS/CGE Building on April 17, 9:00 to 14:00.

It is NOT possible to add any course after Course Registration Day, April 17.

Forms you need to bring:1. Course Registration Form (Spring Quarter & Summer Quarter) 2. Seminar Permission Sheet (yellow sheet) if you take a seminar

You can bring a printed form and submit it.OrThere are 3 laptops and printers available at the Conference Room. Bring your data in a thumb drive and print it out there.

7. Course Registration Confirmation

April 27 Course Registration Confirmation

International Affairs Office sends the Course Registration Confirmation Sheet via e-mail

By April 27 (afternoon), the International Affairs Office will send the Course Registration Confirmation Sheet to each student via e-mail.

If there is any mistake on your Confirmation Sheet, you need to send an e-mail or visit the International Affairs Office by May 1, 3pm. However this is NOT the drop & add period.

Receive your Student ID and Ikkyo ID (IT network ID)

A student ID is given to UG exchange students in this session. Graduate students should go to their respective graduate school’s offices and receive a student ID there.

Your UG student ID MUST be returned to the International Affairs Office when you return home for good.

Receive your Student ID and Ikkyo ID (IT network ID)

An Ikkyo ID, an on-campus network ID, is also given to UG exchange students in this session. Graduate students can receive it at their respective graduate school’s offices. This ID is effective on April 1.

Students need the Ikkyo ID for manaba. Also, if you log in Mercas with your Ikkyo ID, you can find instructor’s contact information which is NOT disclosed to a guest ID user.

The Ikkyo ID User’s Guide is enclosed in the Orientation Packet.
