vocabulary in an enjoyable, motivating and practical way for the

What is Bilingual Beginnings? -- It is an elementary school
language program for enrichment. -- The students will be engaged in
reading, writing and speaking common words and phrases. --The
eight-themed units will cover basic vocabulary about the young
childs world. --This vocabulary will be presented through
activities that engage the student to read, write and speak
Spanish.

Why take Bilingual Beginnings? Many experts in the field of
foreign languages have demonstrated the cognitive benefits to
children who learn a second language. These individuals from the
American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) and
National Network for Early Language Learning (NNELL) state that the
young foreign language student is: -- more proficient at learning
languages later in life -- has the ability to gain a near-perfect
pronunciation and intonation --has a natural curiosity about the
world around them and will be more open to accept someone who is
different and from another culture

Bilingual Beginnings FAQ This course is an eight-module online
course that lasts 16 weeks. The instructor presents the vocabulary
and models each activity in a live lesson. The projects and
dialogue are shared between students through blogs. Two weeks will
be devoted to each theme. A computer with speakers will be
necessary

Who can take Bilingual Beginnings? First through fifth graders
with basic reading skills A learning coach is required to support
the young learner. This adult does not need to know Spanish and can
learn along with the student.

write and speak) basic Spanish vocabulary in eight- themed
vocabulary lists of common words and phrases Learning Goal B-
Students will apply this vocabulary to create pictures of the words

vocabulary using forum to interact with other classmates

a personal vocabulary list design a picture that depicts specific
words from this vocabulary list and tell about the picture on
