IntroductionRadiological Protection is an obligatory

course for two sections at the Faculty of Health Studies:Radiological technologySanitary engineering

The course covers both, theoretical lectures and practical exercises

Page 3: Course on Radiological Protecion

Aim of the SubjectThe aim of the Radiological Protection course

is to prepare students for work with the sources of ionising radiation, and to introduce them to dangers of radiation.

During the classes student receives theoretical as well as practical knowledge on the matters of radiation protection for patients and professionals in diagnostic radiology and radiotherapy.

Theory and practiceRadiological technology section has this

subject during 2 semesters, with15 classes of theory15 classes of practice each semester

Sanitary engineering section covers this subject in one semester30 classes of theory15 classes of practice

LecturersThe theoretical lectures during this class is

covered by prof. Lidija Lincender, MD, PhD while practical exercises with the support of medical physicists working at the Clinical Centre.

The lectures and practical exercises are presented at the Clinical Centre of Sarajevo University.
