Hon'ble Vice Chancellor's Message:

In line with skill India Mission, Government of Haryana announced Shri Vishwakarma Skill University

(SVSU) under Act 25 of 2016. The university is aiming at providing structured skill qualification

programmes aligned with existing and emerging job roles of the Industry.

Greetings from Shri Vishwakarma Skill University.

The programmes have been mapped with National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) that facilitates

upward mobility from certificate to doctoral Level. The University is being build on 82.7 acres of land with

a state of the art infrastructure capacitised for 12,000 students per year, as a part of its master plan. The

university spells its two operating models : Incampus and Outcampus.

The University has developed customized Certificate, Diploma and Graduation programmes that are offered through an integrated

work and study model leading to creating plug and play resources for the industry that will address the growing requirements of

skilled manpower. This model of skill building will also help in producing the motivated and engaged job ready resources.

These programmes have experiential learning which is integrated with classroom, practical, OJT and National Apprenticeship

Promotion Scheme (NAPS).

Vision, Mission & Values

Lord Vishwakarma, the architect of this universe remains our source of inspiration. The layout of the sanctum sanctorum of the university shall resemble the flying chariot built by Lord Vishwakarma for the Gods. Drawn by the horses with supernatural prowess, the chariot that denotes speed, direction, perseverance and diligence. Millenniums ago, it was on such divine chariot, Lord Krishna delivered the great song celestial – Bhagawad Gita, which to this day remains seminal doctrine teaching the principles of karmayog and dutifulness to the mankind.

The university, at present, operates from its transit campus in Gurugram. Its permanent campus is being

built on 82.7 acres of land with a state-of-the-art infrastructure. The master plan aims at connecting our civilisational grandeur with the marvels of modernity. Contours of an environmental-friendly and energy-efficient green campus that will instil sense of pride and symbolise our core values are being etched on the ground.

SVSU plans to have four faculties spread across 25 departments with 157 programmes, 12,000 learners will study. The total outlay of the project is Rs 960 crore.

SVSU has built strong partnership with Industry to facilitate student employability and self-employability through On-the-Job training. The university has designed, developed and deployed industry integrated dual education model (IIDEM) that facilitates(OJT) “Earn While Learn” concept and provides students with opportunities to enhance their qualification with the flexibility of entry and exit. SVSU was conceptualized to deliver industry integrated dual education model programme with various industry partners. The programmes are designed in such a way where 60 percent of credits are earned by working in OJT method or NAPS. The students also earn stipend for their job work during that period and are being put under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) wherever applicable. The classroom training is provided by the SVSU faculty and other industry experts. The class room curriculum orbits around the OJT as well. Practical workshop experience is also a key component of the overall training methodology. Forty percent of the credits come from classroom theory and conceptual models. The entire pedagogy is tweaked around developing application based learning that make students job-ready by earning industry work experience and learning required technical concepts. Students are exposed to latest industry technology, work culture and also get tutored by experts and academicians. This earn and learn model also gives flexibility of entry and exit to the students.

Construction Skill Academy

Construction Skill Academy (CSA) is a milestone which has been constructed in the shortest period of time with the latest facilities for students to have a blend of classroom teaching, practical and demonstration of safety. The first batch of the training at CSA was imparted under Corporate Social Responsibility by the Project Management Consultant of the SVSU’s campus development, IrconISL. The objective of CSA is to provide formal skill certifications in the area of constructionfrom basic to advance level programs. This is first of its kind academy which will be training the workers at site, offering onthe-job training and lastly jobs with the executing agencies of our project management consultant, IrconISL at SVSU
