Course Description
This course will focus on topics in Macroeconomics which is the study of the economy as a whole. Important topics include National Income, Inflation and Unemployment rates, Savings and Investments and Banks and money supply. There will be some simple calculations that we use in this course.
Class Goals
The goal of macroeconomics is to explain theories and phenomena that affect all households, firms and markets in the economy such as booms and recessions, unemployment, inflation etc. This course will help students understand the reasons behind changing prices, the differences in income levels across countries, how governments promote a rise in incomes and stabilize employment. By the end of the course students will understand how national incomes, inflation and unemployment rate are calculated, why some countries grow faster that other countries, how the banking sector operates etc.
