Dear Colleagues,

It is often the way of bar associations that the projects put in the soil during one administration bear fruit during a later one. So it is with this effort beginning in 2007 to collect original artwork of courthouses in all of Indiana’s 92 counties. The Indiana State Bar Association has secured 40 paintings so far portraying courthouses across Indiana, all of which are hanging in the ISBA offices as part of a permanent art exhibit.

I have thoroughly enjoyed traveling all around the state and meeting with attorneys and bar associations to receive these marvelous pieces of artwork, and to learn about the history and significance of each courthouse. I hope you will support the State Bar’s continued efforts to collect pieces of artwork from all 92 counties. With your county’s participation, the State Bar will own one of the few complete collections of original artwork depicting Indiana courthouses, and certainly the most unique!

For more information about this initiative, please contact me at 317.773.2190 or [email protected].

Sincerely,

Douglas D. ChurchPast-President, 2007-2008Indiana State Bar Association
