Yuma County is located in the southwestern corner of the state of Arizona. The county

borders three states, Sonora, Mexico, located to the south, with California, United States

and the Baja Californiam, Mexico to the west, across the Colorado River. The county seat

and largest city is Yuma. Yuma was one of four original Arizona counties created by the 1st

Arizona Territorial Legislature. The original county seat was the city of La Paz. The in 1871 it

was moved to Arizona City and was later renamed as Yuma in 1873. Yuma County also

includes the Yuma, Arizona Metropolitan Statistical Area.

There is plenty to see and do here in the Yuma County Area. Find some family fun

activities, outdoor adventure or do some relaxing with friends. Come explore the outdoors,

do some hiking or biking, go fishing, boating, golfing or attend an outdoor event. Come

A DECADE OF SERVICE.A LIFETIME OF COMMITMENT.

WHO WE SERVE

Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) serves veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound, co-incident to their military service on or after September 11, 2001 and their families. On that date, America

watched in horror as approximately 3,000 people died including hundreds of firefighters and rescue workers. Many warriors note a sense of duty to volunteer for the military following these tragic events.

Sept. 11 also served as a stimulus for Operations Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom, and New Dawn. Operation Iraqi Free-dom refers to military operations in Iraq that began March 19, 2003 and officially ended August 31, 2010. Operation Endur-ing Freedom refers to combat operations in Afghanistan and other regions in support of the Global War on Terror. Operation

New Dawn refers to the conclusion of operations in Iraq beginning September 1, 2010 and ending December 15, 2011.

For WWP, there is a distinct difference between members and alumni; the term alumni indicates a mutual shared experience and denotes your place in an organization was earned. There are no dues here - those were paid by wearing the uniform

and on the battlefield.

Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) takes a holistic approach when serving warriors and their families to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement. Through a high-touch and interactive approach, WWP

hopes to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history.WWP offers many different programs and support systems to help our warriors and their families.

· To raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members. · To help injured service members aid and assist each other. · To provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
