We have six new Councillors this term. The budget is quite a lengthy process. In sitting on the Audit and Budget Committee has given me the opportunity to go into detail on the projects in the RMWB. It also allowed me to make amendments to the budget to include projects for Ward 4 that residents have asked for. All Councillors can also make written submissions. These projects are then voted on by Council as a whole. There will be community consultation on some of the projects that require this process. Some of the projects for Conklin include: Water Park – predesign/design Place making (beautification) – construction Walking trail – (Northlands Drive) – The intention is to proceed this year,providing the RMWB does not run into any particular delay due to rightofway clearance, regulatory approval or any unforeseen issues Warm up shelter for covered dome – Completion this year Conversion of streetlights to LED Multiuse Centre – Start of Construction Fort McMurray #468 1 st Nations is having their 1 st Annual Fishing Derby at Indian Beach, on February 15, 2014. Signs will be put up directing people to the beach. There are prizes for biggest fish for both Adults and Youth. 1 st Prize is $5,000 for adults and $1,000 for youth. Entry fee is $50 for adults and free for youth. Registration is between 11:00 am and noon. Fishing Derby is between noon and 5:00 pm. It is a shot gun start. Water and Garbage Services If you are a new resident to the community and require these services then you must complete a utility application form at your local Municipal office. If you are moving and no longer require the services then you must complete a utility termination for or you will continue to be billed. If you have any questions please feel to contact your local Municipal Office at (780) 559-2235 or you may call the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo at 1-800-973-9663 and ask for utility billing. Payment options: The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo provides billing on a regular basis for Utility services and on an annual basis for Taxes. Please find below your payment options;

1. Pay in person at 9909 Franklin Avenue in Fort McMurray or at your local Municipal Office.
