REPORTS: GRANTS COMMITTEE CHAIR● Who: All UF students paying fees at time of travel are eligible.● What: Travel to present RESEARCH or for PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

Up to $350 for hotel, travel, and registration, 1x/fiscal year as long as travel is not already funded by another SG organization, and the amount requested plus other guaranteed funds does not exceed the total cost of trip.

● When: Cycles open and close MONTHLY, and FAR IN ADVANCE of travel. ● How: Make ufgsc.org your best friend. Once you develop this relationship,

REPORTS: INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS CHAIRUpcoming events that may be of interest:

● Intra-Action: Women in Art. Harn Museum of Art, October 9th, 3pm. “Kerry Oliver-Smith, Curator of Contemporary Art, will introduce works by The Guerrilla Girls and 36 international women artists. Following the talk, Center for World Arts / Harn Choreographer-in-Residence Andrea Ward, will perform a short, original work that illustrates the frustrations of living under rules established and perpetuated by a patriarchy of classism and celebrates the efforts of feminists worldwide. A discussion will follow.”

● Art in Engineering. Harn Museum of Art, October 13th, 6pm. “View works of art and attend performances by UF College of Engineering faculty and students. Express your inner-engineer through art-making. Additional support for this evening is provided by the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering.”

● Maximum Visuality: How to Look at Pictures of War. Harn Museum of Art, October 30th, 2pm. “In conjunction with the Aftermath exhibition, Debbie Lisle, Reader in International Relations, School of Politics, International Studies & Philosophy, Queens University Belfast, will explore three developments in our understanding of the way people read pictures of war. Support for this program is provided by the UF Center for European Studies. A reception will follow the lecture.”

● Symposium: Critical, Clinical, Curatorial. Harn Museum of Art, October 22nd, 10:30am-5pm. “Presented by the Harn Eminent Scholar Chair in Art History Lecture Series. the symposium invites an in-depth exploration of the various educational programs and exhibitions that make up the intertwined histories of art and therapy, modern art and self-taught artists, art and madness. REPORTS: INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS CHAIR● Pop-Up Culture. UF Plaza of the Americas, October 13th, 10am-2pm.”Join us for spontaneous acts of culture that will

"pop up" throughout the UF Plaza of the Americas. These culture bursts are aimed to increase awareness, appreciation and excitement for the arts and humanities at UF. Participants can view a range of activities such as debates, dancing, painting and print making.”

● Collaborating with Strangers Workshop. Smathers Library (East) Room 100, October 20th, 9am. Turn small talk into big ideas? Find quick ways to make long-term connections?
