Sign up for a Pre-Authorized Debit PlanConsider enrolling in a pre-authorized debit (PAD) plan for your 2022 taxes. Visit RichmondHill.ca/TaxPAD to learn more about the due date and monthly payment plans and to sign up online. The deadline is December 1, 2021.

Due Dates and Payment OptionsFinal residential taxes for 2021 are payable in two instalments on Tuesday, August 3 and Friday, October 1.

For residents registered for the monthly Pre-authorized Debit (PAD) plan, final residential taxes will be withdrawn on the first business day of the month from August 3 to December 1, 2021.

Property Value AssessmentResidential taxes are calculated by multiplying the tax rate with the Current Value Assessment (CVA) of your property, which is determined by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC). Due to COVID-19, the Ontario government has postponed the 2020 assessment update which means your 2021 CVA is the same as 2020. Senior Tax Assistance GrantThe Seniors’ Tax Assistance Grant for 2021 is $404 per eligible applicant. To qualify for the Senior Tax Assistance Grant, seniors must be 65 years of age or older and apply each year, occupy their residential property in Richmond Hill, be the assessed owner (or spouse of the owner) of the property for at least one year immediately preceding the date of the application and receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement as provided under the Old Age Security Program.
