SUPERINDENTENT’S CORNER

Greetings!

New windows have been installed in the Middle School Wing replacing the 20 year old windows that were in place. New boilers should be up and run-ning by October 15th as well, which should make our building much more energy efficient.

The area where the old barn was located will be paved in November and much needed new parking spaces will be added.

We had a great start to the school year and were ex-cited to see many of you at “Back to School” nights.

PRINCIPAL’S NEWS

Dear Parents, It was great to see so many of you at our Back-to-School Nights. As always, the staff and I are committed to providing your chil-dren with the best education possible. If at any time you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact a member of our staff. This month our students will be participating in various Character Educa-tion activities. Many of these activities will take place during the state mandated “Week of Respect” and “Violence and Vandalism Week.” Dur-ing the “Week of Respect,” our PE Department will be sponsoring a Men-tal Health Awareness Day for the entire school. This day will consist of yoga, breathing exercises and other mindfulness activities. More infor-mation will be sent home describing this fantastic day. We are also excited to announce that therapy dogs will be coming to East Amwell! Our Counseling Department and Child Study Team have worked hard to bring this program to our school. The benefits of this program, ac-cording to Charlotte’s Letter – 2014, include social, emotional and cogni-tive development. A letter will be sent home in early October describing the program.

On Thursday, October 10th, our school will be participating in World Mental Health Day. This day is to raise awareness about mental health issues and create efforts to support mental health. Our PE Department,
