Consequently, ash falls were register over El Chaupi, Machachi and Tambillo, and the coast towns of Manabi (El Carmen) and Santo Domingo of Tsáchilas. President Rafael Correa participated in the Council of Emergency Operations of the Province of Cotopaxi, which was held in the Technological Institute and also had the participation of the Director of the Geophysics Institute, Mario Ruiz, who provided information on the current state of activity of the Cotopaxi volcano. In this instance, the President, alongside Ministers and local authorities, evaluated the conditions endured in the zones affected by ash falls in order to reinforce contingency plans and establish adequate measures. Authorities also visited the communities of San Agustín del Callo and San Ramón, where the citizenry was able to voice their concerns and requests. The president also met with residents of the communities of Aláquez, Pastocalle, Joseguango Bajo, Ashigua, Belisario Quevedo, La Cangahua and El Rosal, where he informed the communities of the actions the government has put in place and invited citizens to stay well informed and participate in the various trainings being held as they are also co-responsible for their safety.

The report submitted by the Geophysics Institute indicated that the internal
