3) a thrilling fat-bike ride awaits us. Fat-bikes are a direct evolution of mountain bikes and are equipped with large wheels

perfect to tackle uneven ground. We tour the park heights as we explore nature.

We proceed along the Esplanadi, two streets in the centre of Helsinki and a true temple of shopping where many embassies

are also located. We then reach the shipyard area, a key economic activity for the country.

What we will do

We leave the ship behind us and reach the ferry that, in just a few minutes, takes us to an entirely different side of the capital.

We arrive at the spectacular Suomenlinna fortress dominating the sea and defending the city from its privileged position on six

connecting islands. Built during the 18th century under the Swedish dominion, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Once there, we enjoy a thrilling guided tour of the fortress and realize immediately that this extraordinary place is not merely a

military fortress, but a true city within the city that boasts a library, shops, a fire station and a school all located in the buildings

that used to be the garrison’s lodgings.

After the guided tour, we have some time available to explore Suomenlinna at leisure: it is the perfect opportunity to discover

the perfectly tended green areas, lovely beach or fascinating galleries most of which are open to the public.

The ferry then takes us back to the city and we stop in the lively Market Square, which is busy throughout the day and teeming

with stalls where we find the best fruit, vegetable and handicrafts. Here, we have some free time to have lunch or enjoy some

shopping.

In the afternoon, we embark on a sightseeing tour of Helsinki on a comfortable coach ride along the city streets to showcase

the main sights described by our knowledgeable guide.

We stop for photos in the imposing Senate Square overlooked by magnificent buildings dating back to the 19th century

including the lovely Lutheran cathedral.

We continue our tour to admire other beautiful buildings such as the Parliament, one of the largest buildings in the country

built entirely by hand, and the modern Finlandia Hall designed by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.

We then stop for a few photos at the Sibelius Monument, dedicated to the famous Finnish composer and made up of

hundreds of steel tubes forming a gigantic organ that plays when the wind blows.

We end the tour with a visit to one of the most famous and charming places in Helsinki: the Lutheran church of

Temppeliaukio, i.e. the “Rock Church”, a modern masterpiece carved inside a rocky hill and an unmissable example of

contemporary stone architecture.

We reach the jetty where our adventure on the waters surrounding Helsinki starts off and meet the staff who provide us with

all the safety information and equipment necessary.

We board a powerful motorboat capable of reaching an impressive speed of 40 knots and set off for the Helsinki archipelago

leaving a wake of white foam behind us.

As we dart along the coast, under the city bridges and among the surrounding islands, we discover an incredible urban

archipelago that enchants us with its varied landscape including metropolitan views, greenery and elegant summer residences

by the sea.

From time to time, the captain slows down to provide some interesting information on the city and its attractions that parade

continuously before our eyes.

After one hour spent discovering Helsinki, we return to the jetty and to the ship with our hearts still filled with emotion.

We leave the port by coach and reach the stop of the vintage tram dating back to the 1960s that takes us to discover

Helsinki.

We take our seats, ready to admire the beauty of the city and listen to the abundant information and numerous curiosities

provided by our guide along the way, making our tour a true journey into the history and life of Helsinki.

Through the large tram windows, we see a parade of the most significant places and monuments of the Finnish capital,

including the bustling Market Square with its busy stalls.

We proceed along Mannerheimintie, one of the main streets, and get the chance to admire extraordinary sights such as the

Gothic National Museum and the modern Finlandia Hall designed by the famous Finnish architect Alvar Aalto.

After our tram tour, we visit the imposing Senate Square overlooked by magnificent buildings dating back to the 19th century

Along the way, we admire Mannerheimintie, one of the main streets, and the Parliament Building, setting of many crucial

We then stop for a few photos at the Sibelius Monument, dedicated to the famous Finnish composer and made up of

hundreds of steel tubes forming a gigantic organ that plays when the wind blows.

We continue with the extraordinary Lutheran church of Temppeliaukio, the ”Rock Church”, a modern masterpiece carved

inside a rocky hill and an unmissable example of contemporary stone architecture which is definitely worth a visit.

We reach the evocative Senate Square and stop to take a few photos of the lovely buildings such as the amazing Lutheran

church and city museum.

We end the morning with an hour’s free time available to have lunch wherever we please or indulge in some shopping.

The afternoon is entirely dedicated to a visit to the Hvitträsk studio residence, built in 1902 on a wooded hill overlooking a

lake and designed by three famous architects - Eliel Saarinen, Armas Lindgren e Herman Gesellius - inspired by the

philosophy of a return to nature.

We go on a guided tour of the residence which is now a museum, to better appreciate its history and characteristics, then

enjoy some free time in the surroundings to explore them at our leisure.

Our adventure ends here and we return to the ship as we take in the marvels of Helsinki from our coach one last time.

What we will do

After leaving the port of Helsinki we will cross the city by coach to the Unique Lapland Helsinki Winter World, a mini Lapland

built indoors in a huge hall, using snow and ice. Snow attractions and activities are available in any weather - fun and

excitement guaranteed!

The temperature at the Winter World is constantly kept below zero to guarantee the fun typically Finnish winter activities: kick

sledding, fun skiing, sliding hill... You can also visit the igloos, a maze and Ice Bar, where also the glasses are made of pure ice!

At the entrance to the centre we will be provided with thermal clothing and boots that will allows us to stay as comfortable as

possible while taking advantage of the attractions.

You will also meet a Team of Alaskan huskies and have a short husky ride, driven by a professional musher.

After an enjoyable and refreshing stop in Winter World, we will return to Helsinki, admiring some of the main monuments and

sites of interest en route.

Once in the centre, we will make a photo stop before visiting Senate Square and Market Square.

We will be able to take advantage of some free time to explore the city centre, before setting off once again for Sibelius Park,

where we will get a close-up view of the monument dedicated to the famous Finnish composer and violinist.

We will admire the beautiful Finnish countryside en route to the ancient town of Porvoo, following a panoramic road along the

coast.

Porvoo is the second oldest town in Finland and is a gem of Finnish architectural history, particularly in the residential area of

Old Porvoo, a picturesque neighbourhood built on a hill near the Porvoonjoki River. The houses were built in keeping with

medieval ideas about urban planning and represent the harmonious coexistence of old and new. Porvoo's symbol is its

charming red houses built on the river bank; they were once warehouses where goods, products and exotic delicacies from

distant lands were kept.

We will take a stroll through the historic centre, full of shops selling local delicacies and handicrafts. For example, the depots

near the former station are home to a shop that is impossible to leave empty handed: gifts, souvenirs, local handicrafts,

organic food and cakes, all top-quality, so much so that it is considered by many to be a tourist attraction in its own right!

We will set off once again for Helsinki, passing through the beautiful countryside.

The trip to Porvoo will be approximately 1 hour.

The Mannerheimintie is rightly considered Helsinki's main street. Staying on it throughout, we will be able to see: the

Parliament, the scene of many crucial moments in the political life of the nation, the National Museum, Finlandia Hall, an

important conference centre that plays host to all kinds of events and is well-known for its famous architect Alvar Aalto, and

finally the new Opera House.

Passing the Olympic Stadium, famous for hosting the 1952 Olympics, we will finally reach the controversial Passio Musicae, a

monument dedicated to the Finnish composer Jean Sibelius and an abstract structure made of 600 empty steel tubes that

resemble organ pipes. The meaning behind this monument is still very much up for discussion among the Finns: there are

those who say that the sculptor Eila Hiltunen intended to recall the Northern Lights; others think it looks like ice crystals, some

think it is a giant organ, while others find references to Nordic forests in it. It appears that the artist had no particular intention

in mind, and, while commemorating the life and works of Sibelius, she also wanted visitors to be able to bring their own

meaning to the work.

Before returning to the ship, we will have some free time for shopping.

We arrive at the spectacular Suomenlinna fortress dominating the sea and defending the city from its privileged position on six

connecting islands. Built during the 18th century under the Swedish dominion, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Once there, we enjoy a thrilling guided tour of the fortress and realize immediately that this extraordinary place is not merely a

military fortress, but a true city within the city that boasts a library, shops, a fire station and a school all located in the buildings

that used to be the garrison’s lodgings.

Our sightseeing tour starts in the centre of Helsinki and will make its way around the Finnish capital's main points of interest.

We admire Mannerheimintie, one of the city’s main roads, and the Parliament building, the setting of many crucial moments in

the nation’s political life, then of course we pass by the Olympic Stadium whose construction ended in 1938 for the 12th

Olympic Games that should have been held in Helsinki in 1940 and was however annulled due to the start of the Second

World War, and finally “Kauppatori”, the famous market square.

Afterwards, we leave the city and head to the Savijärvi estate approximately 30 km from Helsinki and unchanged for the past

100 years. In a green country oasis , we stop to enjoy a few typical local products - home-made cakes, soft fruit and a cup of

coffee or tea - and experience the emotion of Finish rural life as told by the family who has been running the estate for three

generations.

We make our way back to Helsinki through the lovely rural landscape. As we drive through the village of Sipoo, we can admire

the small church of St. Sigfried and its cemetery dating back to Late Medieval times. Built in the 15th century, the church was

a meeting place for the families of sailors who would offer up prayers for their safe return.

masterful power play.

What we will do

We will set off on our cruise of the city's rivers and canals to avoid the rush-hour traffic and we will admire the most significant

monuments from a privileged viewpoint. The canals actually help to create a unique atmosphere as they reflect the city's

golden domes and fairy-tale buildings.

Known across the world as the 'Venice of the North' because of its geographic, structural and architectural resemblance to the

magnificent Italian city on the lagoon, St. Petersburg is the most important port in Russia and is one of Europe's main cultural

hubs. The city was built over 42 islands and was developed around a complex network and canals and rivers (69 in total)

stretching 300 km. These canals also mark the borders of the different districts. St. Petersburg's classic low-rise architecture

often allows the incredible city views to be enjoyed from the water.

Sailing along the water, we will learn about the history of thriving imperial Russia, when St. Petersburg was the capital, and

admire the various buildings, monuments and architectural styles that typify the different periods.


The boat has indoor and outdoor seats. In the case of adverse weather conditions, you are advised to wear suitable clothing.

In case of bad weather conditons, for safety reasons, the cruise will be conducted only along the Neva River (not entering

smaller rivers and channels) or cancelled and replaced by a panoramic tour of the city.

What we will do

We will begin our tour hopping on-board the coach in the city centre: we will pass in front of Saint Isaac's Cathedral, boasting a

Neoclassical style and a 21.8 metre gold dome making it the tallest cathedral in the world, and the Bronze Horseman, a

monument dedicated to Peter the Great, standing at 6 metres and resting on an enormous granite monolithic stone. The

square surrounding the monument (Senate Square, also known as Decembrist Square) is a favourite spot amongst couples

getting married to take photos.

From here, we will set off on our walk along the Admiralty and, from the area opposite the Neva River, we can admire the

State University (founded in 1724 upon the order of Tsar Peter the Great of Russia, and one of the oldest and most

prestigious universities in Russia), the Academy of Sciences and the Kunstkamera, also known as the 'Chamber of curiosities',

a name preferred by Peter the Great to describe his collection of anatomical preparations and scientific instruments.

We will continue our tour with a visit to Palace Square (one of St. Petersburg's main squares and theatre in 1917 at the end

of the Russian Revolution) and walk along Nevsky thoroughfare St. Petersburg's main road, which is 4 km long, which crosses

the city from the Admirality to the Alexander Nevski monastery, the heart of the shopping area and is flanked by elegant

buildings, amongst which the Winter Palace. From here, we will arrive at the Gostiny Dvor metro station.

The last stage on our tour includes an unmissable tour of the famous subway of St. Petersburg, also called 'metro' in Russian.

Initial plans overseeing the creation of the metro date back to 1899, but were not implemented owing to the Russian

Revolution of 1917 and the outbreak of the Second World War. In 1941, when works began, the then USSR was due to join

the war and works were suspended, and resumed at the end of the conflict. The first line opened on the 15 November 1955

and linked up the city's 5 railway stations. From the moment it was opened, it was acclaimed as one of the best in the world,

not only owing to efficiency and cleanliness, but also for its architecture. It is presently one of the fastest, safest and most

comfortable modes of transport in the world. Most stations are equipped with lifts; the older stations have been richly

decorated with coloured granite, various colour marble, stainless steel, bronze, aluminium, synthetic materials, glass, various

mosaics, bas reliefs and sculptures, whilst newer stations boast a modern and simple design, which are however just as

striking. Every station is unique in this sense. The metropolitan of St. Petersburg is also one of the deepest in the world, with

some stations excavated at more than 100 metres deep.

We will set off towards Pushkin, a town known in the past as Tsarskoe Selo (Tsar'sVillage), where the wonderful Catherine Palace awaits us. Commissioned by Peterthe Great for his wife Catherine in 1710, this estate was used as the imperialfamily's summer residence until the period of the last Tsar.

Inside the palace, we will be amazed by the rooms and galleries decorated withperiod furniture, candelabra and paintings. Most striking of all is the famous AmberRoom , once considered the eighth wonder of the world, with walls covered entirelyin amber panels with gold leaf decorations and mirrors. Plundered by the Nazisduring the Second World War, it was rebuilt piece by piece in 2003 by expertRussian artisans. We will end our visit to the palace with a walk in its well-keptgardens.

Our tour will continue with a boat cruise along the rivers and canals that cut through the city for 300 km. Whilst the coloured

domes and fairy-tale buildings bewitch us with their reflections twinkling on the water, our guide will tell us stories and legends

about the noble families that once owned the buildings on the riverbank.

After a nice lunch based on typical Russian specialities, we will quickly arrive at Yusupov Palace, a pivotal landmark for Russian

history in the 18th and 19th centuries. This palace's history is inextricably linked to St. Petersburg and it was also the

destination of many different famous Russians over the years. It was in this very residence belonging to the aristocratic

Yusupov family that Rasputin was killed in 1916 in a masterful power play.

The palace interior has been carefully restored and is partially used as a cultural centre for teachers. We will admire the

ceremony rooms, the halls and the Yusupov princes' private theatre which is one of a kind.

We will then walk down from the fortress to the Lower Town, or Old Town, which was once the preserve of merchants and is

surrounded by a protective embankment. Our walk will take us to the St Nicholas' Church in Raekoja Square, home to the

14th-century Gothic Town Hall and the Raeapteek, the oldest pharmacy in the Baltic States.

After a delicious lunch in a typical restaurant in the centre, we will continue on to the Estonian Open Air Museum, dedicated to

folklore and home to authentic examples of rural architecture from the 17th to the 19th centuries, with antique furniture and

utensils. We will also enjoy a folk dance show with dancers wearing the colourful Estonian national costume.

On leaving the port, we will proceed to the cultural centre of Tallinn and Kadriorg Park, founded by Peter the Great. We will

We will board our coach once again to admire some beautiful villas en route to Pirita Marina, home to the sailing events for

Once off the ship, we are welcomed by comrade Jerjomin from the Soviet militia or by his assistant with the typical attitude of

frontier soldiers in charge of disembarkations.

Fully identified with his role, he shows us with great realism how tourists were treated in the USSR - everyone had to queue

for passport checks, was scrutinized with a frown and was subjected to a myriad of overly-suspicious questions.

We board an authentic Soviet coach taking us back in time as our guide Jerjomin clears his throat with a gulp of vodka and a

few pickles!

We stop by the Suur Tõll Icebreaker anchored in the port and now a museum. From here, we can observe the outline of the

old Soviet prison bearing unsettling memories of the regime. Jerjomin cheers up the atmosphere with some fun anecdotes

about everyday life in Soviet times with episodes taken from his personal experience as well as interesting considerations on

Estonia’s USSR heritage.

Once back on our coach, we cross the historic city centre of Tallinn, which preserves its Medieval charm intact, thanks also to

a skilful restoration of its architectural gems.

We reach the Maarjamäe Memorial which started out as a German war cemetery and was then turned by the Soviets into a

memorial for those killed during the Second World War.

As we look around, we enjoy a Soviet snack on our coach - Jerjomin offers us a slice of cake and a typical local beverage that

reminds him of his youth.

On the way back, our fun guide teaches us old Soviet songs and a few words in Estonian before bidding us farewell when we

reach the port.

We leave the port behind us on a coach headed to the Kõrvemaa nature reserve, a vast area covered in forest and swamps

that was mainly destined to military training in Soviet times and was therefore inaccessible to the public.

We stop at the base camp and, from there, continue on old military trucks along winding trails through the forest while our

adrenaline increases and as we take in the landscape appearing before our eyes.

We then reach the Kõnnu swamps, where we put on our special wide shoes that enable us to walk on the soft boggy terrain

for about two kilometres as far as the watchtower where we can admire the enchanting scenery characterised by a succession

of marshes and low pine vegetation.

We continue our walking tour along the wooden walkway across the swamp as far as the Järvi lakes where we can enjoy a

well-deserved break with a delicious picnic by the fire with a warm soup, tea/coffee and barbecued sausages.

On our coach, we reach Strömgatan, one of the main streets in the city centre, to discover the wonderful capital of Sweden

like true locals.

Just like most Stockholm inhabitants, who need to move around the city for work or to make errands, we start our tour from

the fascinating underground stations, some of which are true works of art with a wealth of shapes and colours, each with a

different theme.

We start from T-Centralen, the main hub for the various lines. The blue line is a coloured grotto with enchanting flower

drawings and outlines of men at work. We then reach Stadion, located near the Olympic Stadium and characterised by

colourful elements as well as a rainbow near the platform.

We continue our tour as far as Östermalmstorg, where we surface to enjoy a snack in the Östermalmshallen, a magnificent

covered market.

After our break, we take the underground to the city centre where we go on a guided walking tour of the old city or Gamla

Stan between picturesque squares and characteristic cobbled alleyways winding their way among ancient and elegant

buildings with Baroque doors.

We cross Stortorget, the centre’s main square around which the city grew in the 1300s. It is home to the Stock Exchange

Building, the headquarters of the Nobel Museum and the Swedish Academy, among others.

We take a peek at the narrowest alleyway in Stockholm called Mårten Trotzigs gränd, which climbs up with 36 steps that are

only 90 centimetres wide.

We leave the port on our coach and reach the two most popular family attractions in Stockholm: Junibacken and the open-air

Skansen museum. We have two and a half hours to enjoy the attraction we prefer!

At Junibacken, we enter a fairy-tale world inspired by the stories written by Astrid Lindgren, who invented extraordinary

characters such as Pippi Longstocking.

Right at the entrance, we find ourselves in Fairy-tale Square surrounded by old street lights and inhabited by characters

popular with children. We get on board the fairy-tale train, which takes us on an extraordinary journey through the tales

written by Astrid Lingdren and experience the emotions she can provoke: laughter and tears, amusement and fear.

We enter a perfect recreation of Pippi Longstocking’s house: we can play in her kitchen, go upstairs to see her bedroom or

take a photo with her white horse with black polka-dots.

Before leaving this enchanted place, we have some free time available to take a peek at the largest children’s bookshop in

Sweden or go to the café, decorated in the rustic style of days gone by and offering lovely views of the sea.

Alternatively, we can choose the open-air Skansen museum, the first-ever of its kind with houses and farms from all over the

country reproducing a miniature-version of Sweden and illustrating life and working conditions of the past.

The museum is also has a small zoo with wild animals from Nordic regions such as wolves, elks, seals and otters, in addition to

numerous local species of historical interest part of protection plans.

The museum is very interesting for adults and fun for children: in Skansen, everything is designed for children, who can ride a

pony, discover games of the past, watch the animals and make friends with them or become involved in everyday farm

What we will do

We start off our excursion with a sightseeing tour of Stockholm by coach to admire a few of the main sights.

During the tour, our guide points out the most interesting significant locations of the history of ABBA and tells us a few

interesting facts on Sweden’s most famous band.

We stop at Fjällgatan, a spectacular viewpoint from where we can enjoy a superb view of the city.

The next stop on our tour is the imposing City Hall, the city's political centre and the location for the annual celebrations that

follow the presentation of the Nobel Prizes. We admire its imposing exterior, surrounded by water and surmounted by three

golden crowns, the symbol of the kingdom of Sweden, and we are enchanted by its amazing garden.

The tour continues with a pleasant guided walking tour across the heart of the city, its ancient centre, named Gamla Stan,

which began to take shape in the 13th Century and remained the primary centre of activities up until the 19th Century; here,

in an atmosphere soaked in history, we walk along the winding roads, alongside which characteristic Medieval buildings, stand.

We reach the magnificent island of Djurgården, a former royal hunting reserve that is now an idyllic place for wonderful walks

with many museums just a stone’s throw from the city centre. It is also the location of the main destination of our tour: the

ABBA museum, dedicated to the legendary platform boot and sequin jumpsuit-wearing band that revolutionised pop music

between 1972 and 1983.

The museum displays objects and peculiarities such as stage clothes in a modern interactive exhibition with footage from their

shows and interviews with the four band members. The ticket given at the entrance generates a page on the museum website

where we can download our live performance: we become pop stars for a day in a booth where we can dance and sing

“wearing” a digital costume!

Our excursion begins with a sightseeing tour of the city starting with the magnificent island of Djurgården, a former royal

hunting reserve that is now an idyllic place for wonderful walks with many museums just a stone’s throw from the city centre.

Our first stop is the island of Skeppsholmen, from where we can admire the city skyline - an unmissable occasion to capture

this breathtaking scenery on camera!

We continue towards the centre and go on a guided walking tour of the old city - or Gamla Stan - between picturesque

squares and characteristic cobbled alleyways winding between ancient and elegant buildings with Baroque doors. We cross

Stortorget, the centre’s main square around which the city grew in the 1300s. It is home to the Stock Exchange Building, the

headquarters of the Nobel Museum and the Swedish Academy, among others. We take a peek at the narrowest alleyway in

Stockholm called Mårten Trotzigs gränd, which climbs up with 36 steps that are only 90 centimetres wide, and continue with

a little free time around the old city, that offers us endless photo opportunities: will we manage to capture all its charm in a

single picture?

We then enjoy a coach sightseeing tour through the Diplomatstaden residential district, characterised by luxurious villas,

embassies and homes surrounded by greenery, and the elegant Östermalm quarter.

Our last stop is Fjällgatan, one of the most characteristic streets in Stockholm lined by old wooden houses and lapped by the

We leave the port behind us on a coach to reach the island of Riddarholmen, i.e. the Island of Knights, where we can admire

the magnificent 18th century residences of the aristocratic families of the time after which the island was named.

We admire the amazing façade and elaborate structure of the majestic Riddarholmen church, once burial ground of the

Swedish monarchs, and stop at the old parliament building where the national assembly met until 1905 and where our

adventure begins.

We take the lift and climb up to the seventh floor, where we are given safety harnesses and helmets: we get on the roof 43

metres above ground and see Stockholm spreading out before our eyes.

We continue our tour with the Diplomatstaden residential district, characterised by luxurious villas, embassies and homes

surrounded by greenery, and the elegant Östermalm quarter.

We make a stop for photos along Fjällgatan, one of the city’s most characteristic streets offering panoramic views of the city.

We continue towards the centre and go on a guided walking tour of the old city or Gamla Stan between picturesque squares

and characteristic cobbled alleyways winding between ancient and elegant buildings with Baroque doors.

We cross Stortorget, the main square around which the city grew back in the 1300s, and take a peek at the narrowest

We then move on to Drottningholm castle, the best preserved 18th-century palace in Sweden clearly inspired by Versailles

and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We enjoy an interesting guided tour of the palace that takes to discover the splendour of the royal apartments and amazing

Baroque gardens embellished with elegant bronze figures.

Inside the magnificent park, we admire the Palace Theatre which has remained unchanged since it was first built in 1766 and

the Chinese Pavilion, commissioned by King Adolf Frederick to celebrate his wife’s birthday and one of the most genuine

examples of chinoiserie in 18th-century Europe.

At the end of the visit, we board our coach to return to the ship.

Stockholm, a city of water, nature and architecture. Nature and the city are fused together enchantingly, making Stockholm

one of the most attractive capital cities in the world. On this excursion we will be lucky enough to see it from an exceptional

vantage point: water.

While we sail on board a comfortable motor boat, we'll have all the time we need to contemplate the peace and beauty of

Stockholm's landscape.

We'll admire the green areas and parks scattered all around, the tree-lined squares often adorned with majestic bronze

statues, wide, orderly avenues, courtyards, gardens and idyllic lakes.

At least 40 bridges of every shape and size connect Stockholm's 14 islands to one another: we'll have the opportunity to

admire many of these bridges while we sail along the waters of this enchanting city, listening to the guide explaining the history

and describing the landscapes that pass before us.


The boat has indoor and outdoor seats. In the case of adverse weather conditions you are advised to wear suitable clothing

At the end of one of these narrow streets we can see the enormous, imposing Royal Palace, built in the 18th century on the

same site as the 13th century Vasa fortress which was destroyed by fire in 1697. The current complex, the official residence

of the Swedish monarchy, is made up of a series of robust stone buildings in baroque style comprising over 600 rooms.

Our tour allows us to access the Palace and visit the Apartments with their magnificent baroque and rococo interiors, fully

admiring this highly important historical and cultural monument, one of the most fascinating royal palaces in Europe.

At the end of the visit to the Royal Palace an enjoyable tour of the Old Town awaits. Walking through its typical narrow streets,

we'll breathe in the bohemian atmosphere, admiring the characteristic residences dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries,

adorned with baroque gateways and old heraldic shields. We'll also take the opportunity to shop in the numerous boutiques,

galleries, antiques shops and craftsmen's workshops.

Unmissable sights include the oldest church in Gamla Stan, the cathedral known as Storkyrkan or Big Church, near the Royal

Palace. The church has always been the site of major events in Swedish history, such as coronations and royal weddings and

funerals.

Behind it is the main square of the Old City, Stortorget, or Large Square, around which the city developed in the 1300s.

Among others, it is home to the Stock Exchange Building, the headquarters of the Nobel Museum and the Swedish Academy.
