Starting in February, the Armadale Library is holding a series of free Cosplay panels and workshops. Just starting out in this performance art, or getting some help on a big project, there is something for everyone.

The world’s a stage
Our final session will look at the finished product. Learn about poses and getting into character with Maggie from Comet WA, Histoiri Bree, and Kirilee Cosplay. Then explore the other side of the camera and learn some photography tips from Danica Zuks and Jo Black (RedScarf Photography). Come in costume and show off your new found skills.

Grab a brush and put on a little make-up
Make-up and effects are a huge part of Cosplay, come learn about FX from cosplayer Danpool (Danni Guyer) and make-up tips from Bekki Broughton. Find out how to put those finishing touches on your costume and find out what shade of blood goes well with blue skin.

A Call to Arms
Join Astrokerrie, Epic Armoury’s Australian ambassador, and Ngaire from DuskRaven Costumerie as they share their wealth of experience making arms and armour for Cosplay and LARPing. Bring pieces you’re working on and ask questions from the experts.

Come and find out what Cosplay is all about. Experts from Comet WA, and Perth Champion Cosplayer Astrokerrie will be on the panel and at the workshop to share their talents and tricks.

Let’s Get Digital
The City of Armadale Library’s 3D printer has helped bring several astromech droids to life. Join Grant Thomson from the Rebel Alliance, and Ewan MacLeod (Drayke Cosplay) to talk electronics, programming, 3D printing, wearables, and all things technical. If in doubt, put a blinking light on it!
