ALL SAINTS AND OUR FAITHFUL DEPARTED
Once again, in Corpus Christi, we had a meaningful celebration honoring All Saints and All the faithful departed. "Memory is a powerful tool to use in your own grief process and your journey back to life. You may want to stop and remember the special people in your life who have died. Remember a smile or the sound of laughter. Think of the things you enjoyed doing together and the meaningful times you shared with that person…"
The Church, after celebrating the joy of all the saints, prays to the Lord Jesus in favor of the souls of those who preceded us with the sign of faith and sleep in the hope of the resurrection.
The tradition of praying for the dead goes back to the early days of Christianity, where their memory was already hon-ored, and prayers and sacrifices were offered for them. "When a person dies he or she is no longer able to do anything to earn heaven; nevertheless, we can offer our prayers and sacrifices so that the deceased reaches the salvation. With good works and prayer we can help our loved ones to obtain forgiveness and the purifica-tion of their sins in order to participate in the glory of God. "
Let us continue to pray during the month of November for the eter-nal rest of all those who had walked with us in the path of life, par-ticularly, those who no one pray for them. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
TODOS LOS SANTOS Y NUESTROS FIELES DIFUNTOS
Un año más, en nuestra Parroquia Corpus Christi hemos tenido una significativa celebración en honor a Todos los San-tos y a todos los fieles difuntos. "La memoria es una herramienta poderosa para usar en su propio proceso de duelo y en su viaje de regreso a la vida. Es posible que desees detenerte y recordar a las personas especiales en tu vida que ya han muerto. Recuerda su sonrisa o el sonido de su risa. Piensa en las cosas que disfrutaron hacer juntos y en los mo-mentos significativos que compartiste con esa persona ... "
La Iglesia, después de celebrar la dicha de todos los santos, pide al Señor Jesús en favor de las almas de cuantos nos precedieron con el signo de la fe y duermen en la esperanza de la resurrección.
La tradición de rezar por los muertos se remonta a los primeros tiempos del cristianis-mo, en donde ya se honraba su recuerdo y se ofrecían oraciones y sacrificios por ellos. "Cuando una persona muere ya no es capaz de hacer nada para ganar el cielo; sin em-bargo, los vivos sí podemos ofrecer nuestras obras para que el difunto alcance la sal-vación. Con las buenas obras y la oración se puede ayudar a los seres queridos a con-seguir el perdón y la purificación de sus pecados para poder participar de la gloria de Dios. "
Sigamos orando durante el mes de noviembre por el descanso eterno de todos los que han caminado con nosotros en esta vida, particularmente aquellos que nadie reza por ellos. Dales, Señor, el descanso eterno, y brille para ellos la luz perpetua.
Que las almas de los fieles difuntos, por la misericordia de Dios, descansen en paz. Amén.
