Corporate Volunteer Opportunities Everyday Literacy Action relies on volunteers to partner with us to carry out our mission of empowering undereducated adults to reach their highest potential. We offer several custom volunteer experiences for corporations and options to assist on a regular basis in the classroom. For more information on how your company or group can volunteer, contact Jen Booth at [email protected]. Welcoming Day Be a welcoming face for our students on the first day of classes of the Fall or Spring semester by guiding them as they arrive at Literacy Action’s Peachtree Center or Decatur Offices. Volunteers typically serve breakfast and pack/distribute school supply kits with donated supplies in Literacy Action or Company branded bags. Help Our Students Get Career Ready Help our students get career ready by volunteering to assist with providing training in the skills necessary to propel them toward a better career. Opportunities include: resume building, assisting with mock interviews, professional image, effective communication, and much more. Literacy Action also invites corporate partners onsite for job fairs. Literacy Action’s job fairs have successfully prepared adults to transition from unemployment or underemployment to earning a living wage. Lead a Workshop Does your company specialize in an area that could benefit our students? Examples include: • Digital Services • Financial Sevices • Soft Skills Training All tools, materials, and presentations are provided to ensure a successful volunteer day. Volunteers have an opportunity to interact directly with the students, while providing high-quality, customized instruction.
