Message from John Cassaday and Heather Shaw

When we founded Corus in 1999, we established a set of Core Values that continue to shape our day-to-day activities and drive our success. Our values — Accountability, Initiative, Innovation, Knowledge and Teamwork — are embedded in our culture and resonate with our employees. With these values, we have built a strong corporate environment that engages employees, encourages collaboration, fosters innovation, and drives our performance.

2013 was an important year of growth for Corus Entertainment as we completed a number of significant acquisitions. We acquired 100% of our specialty television service ABC Spark. We consolidated our ownership in TELETOON Canada and its five specialty networks. We entered Quebec with the addition of the market-leading networks Historia and Séries+. Then, in January 2014, we acquired two Ottawa radio stations giving us entry into Canada’s fourth largest radio market.

While we are very focused on growing our business, Corus is also committed to being a sustainable and responsible corporate citizen. The work we do to support our employees, our industry, our environment and our communities is a critical part of our success.

Last year, we introduced our first corporate social responsibility report. This year, our report provides additional information on our accomplishments that support our many constituents and the communities that we serve.

On the philanthropic front, Corus has a long track record of supporting community initiatives. To date, we have contributed more than $210 million through our fundraising drives, air-time support and cash contributions to important causes in the communities we serve. Corus has been a longtime supporter of the United Way and in fiscal 2013, we reached our corporate goal of raising more than $475,000 in support of numerous United Way agencies across the country. In addition, we have made great strides through our Corus Feeds Kids initiative to improve the well-being of Canadian children.

In fiscal 2013, our Corus Feeds Kids initiatives raised over $1 million in monetary and food donations for local community food banks. As well, Corus provides paid time off for employees to volunteer in their local communities and, in fiscal 2013, our employees donated more than 800 hours of volunteer time to local charities and philanthropic causes. We are very proud of our combined efforts to support the communities we serve. We applaud the commitment of our highly-engaged employees and are pleased that our efforts were recognized by the Ontario Association of Broadcasters and Toronto’s Daily Bread Food Bank.

Page 5: Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2014 (English)

Corus Entertainment Corporate Social Responsibility Report 2014 5

As part of our commitment to our employees, we have developed a robust training and development program — Corus University (Corus U) — that supports continuous learning. This year, we offered 450 hours of training to help advance the skills and leadership capabilities of our employees. Recently, we launched a new development program to engage and develop our high-performing younger generation employees — the Accelerator Program — which provides our millennial employees with personal development, networking opportunities, cross-functional project work and exposure to different aspects of the Corus business. All of our Corus U programs are designed to develop skills for personal and professional growth.

On the industry front, Corus has played a major role helping to foster a strong and successful Canadian media and entertainment sector. Since 1999, Corus Radio has contributed more than $38 million to talent development initiatives. Corus Television has commissioned over 8,000 hours of Canadian production, contributing more than $616 million in license fees and triggering over $1.5 billion in original Canadian production.

Corus’ rich and diverse pool of exceptional talent has contributed to the Company’s well-established reputation for creating and delivering content excellence across our brands. We continue to invest heavily in programming targeted to our highly-defined audiences and expand on our Nelvana library of over 4,000 episodes of popular kids’ titles. From Franklin and Babar to Scaredy Squirrel and Mike the Knight, Corus creates shows that are enjoyed around the world in multiple languages.

We are proud that our programming has been recognized by the Emmys,® Canadian Screen Awards, the Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards and that our children’s publisher, Kids Can Press, has received its fifth Governor General’s Literary Award. For a fourth time in a row, we have been honoured with an IR Magazine Award for our Investor Relations efforts and we have received numerous awards as an employer of choice. Most recently, Corus was recognized as one of Canada’s Top Most Valuable Brands and ranked as one of the Top 10 Coolest Offices in the World.

We are confident that Corus’ strong corporate culture and values, coupled with our talented work force and track record for creating market-leading brands, will ensure that we continue to grow as a successful, sustainable business and good corporate citizen in the years ahead.
