Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
The Corporate social responsibility must aim at achieving the targets for which companies were set up, without incurring cost and time overruns.
A promoter should certainly not think of his company’s responsibilities only in terms of his narrow financial interests as often happens. Also, charitable acts should not get precedence over protecting the interests of the direct stake holders and the environment.
R. C. Bhargava*, “The Real Meaning of CSR”, Materials Management Review – A monthly publication of Indian Institute of Materials Management, Vol. 4, Issue 10, PP. 21-22, August 2008. Published in the Economic Times, 16th June 2008*Chairman, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
