Introduction
At Oakwood Worldwide, corporate social responsibility (CSR) plays a major
part in the way we operate and conduct ourselves around the world. We run
our business with a thoughtful and comprehensive viewpoint that considers
the experiences and perspectives of our associates, clients, guests, suppliers
and partners as well as our impact on the environment.
We are proud to lead the corporate and serviced apartment industry with
the most extensive CSR policies and measurements, as we continue striving
to be a good corporate citizen by conducting our business with the highest
ethical and professional standards while supporting a diverse workplace.
This report provides an overview of Oakwood Worldwide’s CSR policies
and highlights several areas where we have achieved measurable results,
including reducing our environmental footprint and helping to keep our
associates and guests safe.

Oakwood Worldwide deeply respects the environment and understands how important
it is to preserve and protect our natural resources. We are committed to conducting our
business in ways that lessen our impact on the environment by:
Sustainable Business Practices
MONITORINGour environmental performance annually
and setting targets for improvement.
INCLUDING environmental measures on our inspection checklists to manage
environmental targets and issues.
COMPLYING with and, where possible, exceeding any applicable legal and other environmental requirements relating to our company.
PROVIDING necessary training and awareness programs for our associates.
We have set several specific goals for reducing our energy and water consumption and
increasing our use of energy-efficient processes, appliances and vehicles.
We are making solid progress on those goals, including achieving the following in the US:
About 75 percent of Oakwood-managed properties have converted from conventional washing machines to high efficiency machines, saving more than 4.7 million gallons of water annually.

Since 2011, our Home Services team has converted 10 percent of its vehicles to hybrids, contributing to our 25 percent annual reduction in fuel consumption.
HYBRID VEHICLE CONVERSION
All of our Oakwood corporate apartments have converted from using incandescent light bulbs to energy efficient CFL bulbs, reducing our carbon dioxide emissions by almost 1,300 tons annually and our kWh usage by more than 2 million kWh annually.

Oakwood Worldwide is committed to considering LEED certified buildings when we make
strategic acquisitions. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green
building certification program sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council that recognizes
best-in-class building strategies and practices and promotes renewable, clean energy. In any
market or circumstance where Oakwood Worldwide has the option for a LEED certified asset
versus non-LEED, the LEED certified asset would be given greater preference. We currently
manage five such buildings, including:

LEED Silver Certified.
• Oakwood Premier Incheon, Incheon, South Korea –
LEED Silver Certified.
• Oakwood 200 Squared, Chicago – LEED Certified.
• Oakwood Residence Hangzhou, Hangzhou, China –
LEED Certified.
Our Global Supplier Sustainability & Selection Preference Policy provides details on our
expectations to operate in an environmentally responsible manner by complying fully with all
applicable international, federal, regional, state and local environmental laws, ordinances and
regulations. In addition, it discusses how we encourage our suppliers to help us fulfill our
environmental commitment by reducing environmental impacts and resource consumption,
while continually advancing the sustainability of the products and services we purchase.

Since 2005, 100 percent of Oakwood-managed properties have converted from conventional to low-flow toilets and showerheads, reducing water consumption by more than 100 million gallons of water annually.

Oakwood Worldwide is committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment for our
associates. It is a shared responsibility and we expect all associates to assist in maintaining
such an environment.

Program which is updated annually and
available online to all associates and also
kept in a bound version at all Oakwood
properties.

Our Global Business Ethics Policy outlines all acceptable standards of conduct related to our
overall business practices, including our vision: “To be the most trusted name in furnished
living solutions globally.” It also covers all laws we expect our associates, suppliers and partners
to comply with and provides specific steps for our associates to report any misconduct issues.
We take pride in running our company with high ethical standards, integrity and good
judgment. By doing so, we have built trusting, long-lasting relationships with our clients
and suppliers, created a sustainable and growing business, and fostered a supportive and
collaborative environment for our associates. Our core guiding principles lead us to:

Our Global Labor Practices & Human Rights Policy provides further details about our priority
to protect the safety and security of our associates and guests.
Our program applies proactive processes and tactical measures to manage against a range of
events, from natural disasters and catastrophic episodes, to crimes, misconduct and potential
information security issues. It has helped our company to:

Communicate with and track employees abroad keeping them informed and offering guidance and support throughout each phase of a crisis
Prepare for and anticipate a range of crisis events
Properly train employees to handle issues and follow detailed protocols
Communicate with clients during an event, letting them know the status of their assignees (our guests); and
Swiftly identify clients or guests in need and deliver required, and often, lifesaving assistance.

Our commitment to advocating and valuing human rights is directed by our Global Labor Practices and Human Rights Policy. The policy outlines our support of diversity and inclusion; our hiring practices, including our commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action (AA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act; our zero tolerance for harassment of any kind; our policy of paying fair wages; and our commitment to not employing illegal child labor.
Labor Practices and Human Rights
We believe strongly in giving back not only to the communities in which we operate, but
also to so many in need around the world.
Our more than 3,200 global associates enjoy volunteering and raising funds to lend a
helping hand, working with almost 30 charities and organizations, from food pantries
and homeless shelters in the U.S., to a women’s shelter in the United Kingdom.
In addition, we have a long-standing relationship with the United Service Organizations
Inc. (USO) of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore, helping fund programs to support
children whose parents are deployed, services for military spouses and emergency
housing programs.
Giving Back
