Enagás is Spain's leading natural gas transmission company and the Technical Manager of the Spanish Gas System. Its mission is to ensure that the system works properly and to guarantee continuity and security of natural gas supply.

Enagás has designed a Sustainable Management Model based on the effective implementation of improvements throughout the company. These improvements enable us to optimise both the internal management and the results that our stakeholders expect of us.

The success of the model lies in the integration of three keys planks:

A Governance Model that defines sustainability responsibilities to the various organisational levels and involves all departments of the company.

Assessment tools to identify improvements in different areas of the company’s management and relations with our stakeholders.

A specific Action plan that sets out and includes the lines of action related to the areas of improvement identified.

Assessment tools enable us to identify improvements from two viewpoints:

Internal: internal audits and assessments uncover potential areas for improvement.

External: independent bodies evaluate Enagás’ performance, issuing a final assessment and proposing improvements.

The various levels of the organisation promote the

Sustainable Management Model and the creation of a corporate culture that supports the principles of sustainability.

Enagás has specific bodies that define, approve and encourage sustainability and CSR, such as the Appointments, Remuneration and CR Board Committee and the Sustainability Committee, made up of senior managers.

· Enagás Training School. Opened in 2009 with 21 courses, 2,500 training hours, 180 students and 36 in-house trainers.

· ISO 9001 certifcation. All client management processes are certified.

· Improvement plans based on satisfaction surveys. Drawn up annually, these plans help increase global client satisfaction.

Commitment to suppliersPredicated on establishing mutually benefcial relations, extending Enagás’ commitments to the entire supply chain, guaranteeing the supply of goods and services and safety at work of contractors.

· Suppliers integrated into the Sustainability Model. Contract clause requiring them to acknowledge and accept the Enagás CSR Policy and respect human rights.

· CSR criteria in the supply chain. Considered when certifying suppliers.

Commitment to societyA Social Action Model to reconcile Enagás’ business activities with the needs and expectations of the community.

· Local initiatives. Helping to improve well-being in areas where we do business is one of Enagás’ priorities.

· Other initiatives. In areas such as health, the underprivileged, education and culture.

· Saving and Energy Efficiency Plan. Rollout of initiatives that are driving significant improvement in energy efficiency in the company’s activities, operations and infrastructure by introducing new technology and procedures, and encouraging energy efficient practices.Commitment to shareholders

A relationship based on transparency and active, fluid and ongoing communication through multiple channels for dialogue created for them.

· Formal corporate governance policy. Approved by the Board of Directors in 2009 to reflect Enagás’ commitment to good governance.
