Systech Solicitors is regulated by the SRA in London and a number of our team sit as part-time judges, arbitrators or adjudicators and on DAB and DRB.

Client: Large International Construction Joint VentureLocation: India Seat of Arbitration: Value: £ undisclosed
Details: Systech Solicitors represent a large international construction Joint Venture on a hydroelectric power project in India. Several disputes have been referred to arbitration. Systech Solicitors are instructed on behalf of a European JV member and is working with local JV partner lawyers to achieve the maximum recovery of entitlements.
Outcome: The dispute is progressing.

Details: Systech Solicitors represent a large international construction group in an ICC arbitration. The proceedings included jurisdictional challenges in 2 separate domestic courts. The arbitration is ongoing and is parallel to active court proceedings in a non UK jurisdiction all managed by the Systech Solicitors team.
Outcome: The dispute is proceeding in line with the anticipated timetable and budget whilst efforts to settle aspects of the dispute continue.

Details: Systech Solicitors represented a large international construction Joint Venture in DAB hearings and a prospective arbitration on a metro project in Asia (Singapore). The issues in dispute were many and looked destined for a long and expensive arbitration. By the use of targeted referrals to DAB, which were successful, an overall settlement of the claim referred to arbitration was achieved of $100 million that allowed the parties to work together on following phases of the metro.
Outcome: The dispute was settled in mediation.

Details: Represented a large international communications company in a multi million pound arbitration/mediation issued by a large international contractor. The claim was for negligence in the design and subsequent project management of the construction of an overhead electricity supply line linking a substation with the national grid.
Outcome: The dispute settled against the large contractors insurers.

Details: Defended arbitration proceedings issued by a major energy provider in a claim for breaches of contract relating to the installation of high pressure pipelines, and the erection and protection of an over building located within a contaminated section of a power station.
Outcome: Successfully applied to stay the adjudication and commenced mediation bringing in four sub contractors and supplies to gain a settlement of £1m.
