letter from our Owner and CEO

Peter TisboPresident & CEO

As Custom Plastics, Inc. celebrates its 60th year in operation, and 11th year under ISO 9001 certification, we are proud of our history and our ability to offer our products and services to new and returning customers.

The company’s longevity has to do with a few simple principles: outstanding service, credible engineering and manufacturing processes, and a top to bottom commitment to quality.

You will find that the array of services we offer, including the “one-stop” shop mentality, is as much in play today as it was when the company initially began in 1953. We have grown over the years, and endured some challenges along the way with regards to resin costs, resin availability, the economic status of our nation, and buyers turning first to Mexico and then to China.

We are still here and thriving, while many are not. That said, we offer a partnership with you that will last indefinitely. We can assist in design and development, and can be more to you than just an extruder or an injection molder. The value we can add to your product is endless. While we may not be the largest manufacturer in the country, we should be the first call you make when you consider the potential we bring to you and how we intend on meeting your requirements.

Our past is extensive and filled with countless successes with contributions from the thousands of employees who have been a part of our rich history. These successes, and occasional shortfalls, inspire us to market better, perform better, and be the best at all that we do. Therefore, based on the results of many of our company performance measures I feel that we are clearly on the right path.

Our future drives us to partner with you to become that full-service processor that was first imagined some sixty years ago by the founder, Cosmo N. Tisbo. We invite you to learn about our company and all of our offerings. Let’s take that prosperous step into the future together with a simple conversation - please feel free to contact us anytime to discuss your plastic manufacturing needs.

We have invested heavily in our design and engineering capabilities in order to save our valued customers time and money.

Once we finalize a drawing, we are able to produce a 3D prototype of the product within a few hours. The customer is then able to examine the prototype for fit and function and any suggested changes can be made to the design by our team, followed by the production of a second prototype. This process is repeated until both the customer and our engineers are satisfied with the design.

Using the approved prototype model, our team is then able to use SolidWorks® MoldFlow analysis to optimize tooling design and gain extensive knowledge of how the chosen plastic resin will flow through the mold. Therefore, we are able to determine if the part will be molded properly, and if not, we can make adjustments before any tooling costs are incurred by the customer.

APQP PROCESSOnce a quote is accepted, the customer issues Custom Plastics a Purchase Order for tooling and production

An APQP form is submitted to the project manager who then as-

signs a date and invites the cross functional, multi-departmental team to the “Kick Off Meeting.”

The project manager is then in constant, controlled communication with the customer to successfully drive projects from concept

to completion until the initial sample is submitted to the customer for approval.

A control plan is submitted to

the customer for approval.

After completion of the initial production run, quality specifications and processes

are reviewed and initial parameters are verified.

These products are a vital component of any electrical wire system as they cover and alert lineman and pedestrians of guy wire and guy systems supporting utility poles and telecommunication towers.
