Corporate Health and Wellbeing Program Descriptions The benefits of employer-sponsored health and exercise programs are well documented. Organizations that promote good workplace health by hosting on-site exercise programs, like yoga , have been shown to have happier and healthier employees who are more productive and 1

more likely to remain with the organization. Unfortunately, as professional demands increase too 2

often workers neglect their long-term health in order to get ahead, meet the next deadline or respond to the never-ending stream of emails. Most of us understand the importance of exercise and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but the problem is we just don’t have enough time! This is the wrong mentality. In fact, because we are all so busy, it is even more important that we exercise to ensure we are healthy and our minds stay fresh so that we can meet life’s demands. Yoga at Work An hour yoga practice in the middle of the workday improves concentration, productivity and decision-making, along with promoting good physical and mental health. Yoga at work has the added benefit of requiring very little office space and almost no equipment, and because each pose can be modified to be made more or less challenging, life-long yogis and first-timers can participate side-by-side in the same class.

• Classes are typically 50 minutes to an hour long and require very little setup • Taught in office common areas, conference rooms or building gyms (if available). Jessica

will work with you in identifying a good space for classes. • Accessible to all ages and ability levels • Yoga mats are typically owned and stored by the employer, although students often bring

their own mats. Arrangements can be made for the purchase of mats. Chair Yoga Workshops for Healthy Backs The benefits of yoga can be achieved even without leaving your desk. Many variations of yoga poses and breathing exercises can be simply and discretely performed from the comfort of our own chair. Jessica’s Chair Yoga Workshop will give your employees the skills and knowledge to regularly move their bodies during work hours to promote a healthy back and neck. The yoga positions taught will move the spine in multiple directions to elongate muscles, correct posture and improve total body circulation for optimal productivity. Chair yoga workshops are popular offerings in offices where employees spend the majority of their day sitting at a desk.

• Workshops are typically 30 - 45 minutes to an hour long • Taught in office conference rooms, common areas or individual offices • Employees will be given additional materials to reference at their workspaces

Led Group Meditation There is a reason some of the biggest and most successful corporations world (Apple, Google, Nike and Procter & Gamble, to name a few) promote meditation at their offices —it works. 3

Meditation has been shown to boost energy, increase focus, reduce stress and lower anxiety. Even short meditation sessions have been shown to pay dividends and are particularly popular in busy office settings where workers are more prone to feel higher levels of stress and anxiety. A few 4

moments of regular mindful concentration can be life-changing. • Meditation sessions are typically 20 to 30 minutes long • Held in office common areas, conference rooms or building gyms (if available). Jessica will

work with you in identifying a good space for meditation sessions.

Bio – Jessica Sandhu Jessica Sandhu is a Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga teacher and health coach. Jessica has been practicing yoga for two decades and has participated in over 1,000 hours of certified training in several different practice areas. She has led yoga classes at small studios, large gyms, international law firms, non-profit offices and even the White House. Jessica pulls from her years of studying a variety of yoga and meditation disciplines in developing fun and creative sequences to challenge, relax and restore the body. Although alignment and focus are central to her classes, so too is having a good time which is why laughing out loud is a frequent occurrence in a Jessica-led class—both by both the instructor and students alike. Yoga is defined by letting go and fully accepting who you are in the present moment, and Jessica creates an atmosphere and practice that will help you find that moment. In Jessica’s yoga class, students learn how to smile from the heart. Testimonials “I started taking Jessica’s hatha yoga class around January 2014 after having ACL repair surgery on my left knee six months prior. I was over-weight and my left quad muscle was weak. Since taking her class, I’ve noticed a significant improvement in myself, both physically and mentally. Yoga is a practice that works on both the mind and body and I always leave Jess’ class feeling more balanced, at peace and accomplished. Her classes are great for those with any level of experience. She has an energy and teaching style that brings out best that you can do for yourself.” ~ Jacen Summo, Washington D.C. “Jessica is my favorite yoga instructor. Her love for yoga, her students and life is obvious and infectious. Fortunately she is well-versed, so her and our energy and enthusiasm are focused in the right direction. I always leave feeling better than I started.” ~ Scot Stone, Washington, D.C. "Whenever I reflect upon my very first yoga class, I am always filled with joy. Jess was there to help instruct my first class, and she opened a new door to one of my new found passions. Her incredible energy, stellar instruction, and great smile made me continue my practice as a yogi! I’m very grateful to have her as a great instructor and fellow yogi!” ~ Mario Austin, Washington, D.C. "I can't say enough good things about how amazing it is to have Jessica teach yoga in our office. Even just one day a week has helped my back, and helped me build friendships with folks at the firm I never would have met otherwise. Jessica really focuses the practice to meet our needs -- to counteract sitting hunched over a desk, to relieve the stress of walking in heels, and to shut out work just for a bit to create a calm space in our minds! She is not overly-zen - like some yoga instructors. She was real and accessible and that in turn made yoga so accessible. She is great about giving variations and explaining why we are doing certain poses. She is also great about

working with those with very little yoga experience. I am a total fan!" ~ Julia d'Hemecourt, Washington, DC “I have known Jess as a friend, yoga teacher, and spiritual warrior for about three years now. She is passionate, inspired, and ready to make a difference in this world through her coaching, yoga, and commitment to a lifestyle that is not only healthy but authentic and soulful. Attending her classes I appreciate her strength and assertiveness with the poses and pace of the class, while bringing in aspects of spirituality, focus, and calm to the lessons.” ~ Lindsay MacDougall, Washington, D.C.
