You know Megger. Since 1903, the Megger family has provided tools,

training and products under such familiar monikers as Biddle, AVO,

Programma, Multi-Amp and Pax Diagnostics. With a vision encompassing

excellence, precision, innovation and service, Megger and its subsidiaries and

divisions will partner with any customer, working with them on an interactive

path to the right solution. Megger equipment supports electrical systems

worldwide across a range of industries.

Megger has offices across the U.S. and around the world, with major

international hubs in Sweden and the U.K.

Whether you’re making, moving or simply consuming the power,

Megger provides quality testing equipment to make sure your electrical

system is in working order. You produce everything from coal to steel

billets, from chemical compounds to refined fuel and from integrated

circuits to airliners. During the process, you demand constant power at

a constant quality. Keeping that production line running requires a lot

of attention and maintenance. Megger provides the test sets to make

sure that your power is in tune with your equipment, keeping your

production—or your flights—on schedule.

...make yours a Megger test set to navigate that innovation.

ON THE COVER: The DLRO-H200 handheld micro-ohmmeter weighs just two pounds and fits easily in the hand. The groundbreaking DLRO-H200 measures resistance at currents up to 240 A, making it a convenient time- and cost-saving alternative to convention high-current micro-ohmmeters.

RIGHT: The SMRT36 (pictured here with the interface) is a small, light, protective relay test set with more output power than any comparable 3-phase instrument. It has a unique, constant power output, produces a compliance voltage of 50V at up to 4A, and maintains 200VA output power up to 30A. A network interface provides IEC 61850 capabilities.

INNOVATION IN PRODUCT CHOICE

Your needs are diverse. So are our products.

Additionally, under the Megger umbrella, STATES® offers terminal blocks and test switches for power system applications. Test technicians depend on these high-quality products to provide easy access to wiring on panels and switchboards.

The AVO Training Institute is also a part of the Megger family. For almost 50 years, AVO has been helping create safe and reliable electrical systems. The mission is simple: Save lives by eliminating electrical hazards and empower employees to work safely and effectively. AVO’s accredited training certification students experience hands-on work with electrical maintenance, testing, power studies and safety skills.

With an automated eight-terminal/six-winding measurement capability, the MTO330 transformer ohmmeter can be set up four times faster, reducing safety risk by nearly 70%. Additionally, the MTO330 shares the same test leads and software as the TTR330 test set, a three-phase transformer turns ratio test set that measures ratio, phase deviation and exciting current.

Courses are available at training locations nationwide and for presentation onsite at your facility.

Megger also supports its test sets with PowerDB. Megger’s PowerDB is versatile, powerful software. It collects, stores and analyzes data from a wide range of power testing instruments. With PowerDB, generating comprehensive reports has never been easier.

COMMITMENT TO INNOVATION

among peers and colleagues reflects this commitment. As that commitment hasn’t changed in our last one hundred years, it won’t change in the next one hundred. Megger is often the first to design and introduce many key products to the marketplace. These include the first portable insulation resistance test set, commercial cable fault locator, DSP-based watthour meter test system and a software-driven protective relay test system.

Megger test instruments are manufactured at four facilities located inside the U.S. and in Europe: Dallas, Texas, USA; Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, USA; Dover, England; and Taby, Sweden. All Megger factories have been awarded ISO 9000:2000 certification for their quality-assured processes. The Dover and Taby facilities also have ISO 4001 accreditation for environmental standards. Certificates of conformity are available, and our metrology laboratories also offer calibration and certification services traceable to dozens of national and international standards.

Megger promotes innovation. The company continues to design and introduce new test instruments—ones that provide better diagnostic information. They’re also easier to use, faster to test and more reliable. Megger achieves this by anticipating and identifying needs; listening to customers, regulators, standards developers and industry specialists; and continually investing in new manufacturing techniques, research and development, and advanced engineering designs.

We are committed to innovation and the evolution of the research process. Our technical leadership

The Megger S1 series of insulation resistance testers are designed specifically to assist the user with the testing and maintenance of high voltage equipment.

INNOVATION IN PRESENCE AND SUPPORT

Megger has the largest dedicated technical sales team in the industry, providing professional sales support and service before, during and after every sale. The Megger sales team comprises technical sales representatives, plus inside sales personnel and distributors. This network provides a local sales presence in more than 100 countries across the globe. To provide an even higher level of local support,

Megger also has many technical support offices strategically placed regionally. In fact, there’s one near you.

All of our sales engineers are thoroughly trained on new products and applications to make sure you always receive the right product—on time, when you need it.

Technical support of our products is paramount. Megger maintains a diverse staff of highly trained and experienced application engineers driven by one purpose—to assist users of Megger equipment.

They provide training, test application support and recommendations for solving a client’s most critical testing needs.

In addition, Megger maintains service and repair facilities—along with satellite service organizations authorized to provide efficient and effective local repair services in many countries. Every location employs Megger-trained technicians and offers a range of capabilities from the service and repair of warranty and non-warranty products to the supply of spare parts.

All service and repair work is performed by certified technicians, and parts and labor have warranties. We also maintain an inventory of spare parts and accessories to ensure prompt and efficient service to all clients.

The BITE 2 and BITE 2P battery impedance test equipment determine the condition of lead-acid and nickel-cadmium cells up to 7000 Ah.

INNOVATION THROUGH EDUCATION

Using our engineering and technical expertise as a base, Megger creates and/or sponsors numerous technical seminars, conferences and product forums which our customers regularly attend around the globe. These events provide practical real-world information, the option to network with peers and the opportunity to improve application and testing skills.

Megger also offers a series of free publications covering a wide variety of electrical testing applications and case studies using Megger equipment. In addition, professional electrical and safety training classes are offered through the AVO Training Institute, which operates as a subsidiary of Megger.

The DLRO-H200 in action: Lightweight with Bluetooth® communication, this micro-ohmmeter is designed to measure the resistance of circuit breaker contacts, bus-bar joints and other high-current links.

From the beginning, Megger’s edge has always been its people. Megger employs a strong, competent team of professionals dedicated to providing the innovative test equipment necessary to keep electrical systems strong and steady. Additionally, Megger customer service and support excellence is unequaled.
