Well, Mike, it all depends on how you look at it. Since Lindsay co-signed on the lease to help them get the place, she is ultimately responsible for the rent payment. He was late with his first two payments and we had to twist his arm to pay it. After this, we set up an account for him at our bank where he was supposed to have his paycheck auto-deposited every two weeks so we could pay his rent. This way, we would know the status and know if we had to come up with cash to cover the rent to protect Lindsay's credit. He found several ways around this.

Almost every month, Lindsay had to call him because there was not enough money in the account to cover rent. He had his usual "feel sorry for me" stories. Needless to say, money came out of our pockets to pay his rent on more than one occasion. He also owes us several thousand dollars which was supposed to be paid back over the last year. Do I need to tell you he hasn't even attempted to pay us back? For all of you who have been interested to know how much he got us for, and I have avoided telling you, the amount is somewhere between $8000.00 and $10,000.






















I never expected he would pay it back, once I learned what kind of person he is, so don't feel sorry for me. I wrote this off a year ago.

As to anyone, I mean ANYONE, who thought Jim was going to to do right by the Storeys, PLEASE! The guy is a lying con man. He still owes Roy S. about $5000. He still owes Jancascade a few thousand. I know of at least one other person he owes close to $1000 to. As for not letting this go to court, ha ha! You are kidding right. Jim will never go to court, not himself. He may get a judgement against him, then he will just go into hiding. It is sad, this man used CF and its members nad screwed over a lot of the very best people on this board. Bruce...I don't know where CG lives but I do have a an old story how some people took care of scum like this! A group of friends from the area got together and picketed his place. They did it for an entire weekend so all the neighbors would know what kind of scum the person was. This happened in an apartment complex I lived in when I was 18(a very long time ago...LOL). Sounds like a great

place for some friends in the area to get together and herf!!! These people did it 2 weekends in a row and then disappeared. I saw one of the woman that was picketing about 2 months later and asked why they stopped picketing. They said there was an immediate payment arrangement worked out with some funds given right away. Only thing i would caution you on is that the signs have facts only so you don't have to worry about a slander suit. Also for $6 an hour you could probably hire temps thru the local unemployment agency.

Bruce and Lindsay, First off, Congrats! for finally getting rid of that financial drain! I applaude

you!!<BR> This past year, a 'friend' of my Wife, stuck us with a $10K debt. We sued and won, but collecting is a different story. Our Attorney is still working the case. Not to stick up for CG as he was going to pay me back over a year ago also, but he actually only

owes me $1500, not $5000 that Hobbit mentioned. Hobbit and I spoke about what I had lent Jim a while back and he must have misunderstood me. I only want to clear this up in hopes that someday Jim does actually make amends and pay me back. Of course, the $1500 is nothing compared to what he owes some others obviously. If I'm not mistaken, there needs to be a summary judgement in order to garnish wages, or to seize any asset (bank account, home,wages)..I'm not confident that he has any of the

Sorry, Roy. Actually, the $5000 was the total money he ripped off from the Portland folks, and that was only what we knew about at the time he left. The figure has gotten higher when others came foward. I wish I was the only one taken in by his con. Sad to say I was not. As for whoever said Jim needs help: WRONG! Jim got help, tons of it. Jim needs to be beaten, badly. After that he needs prison time. He also NEEDS to have his kid placed somewhere where Jim's twisted lifestyle will not affect him. The last thing Jim needs is help.
