This is a letter of recommendation for John (Henning. In the first half of 1999, John and Iwere assigned to work on a project together at the Corning Photonics plant in Erwin, NY.In the latter part of 1999, the two of us were assigned temporarily to Coming Photonicsplant in Marlborough, MA. Subsequently, I took on a Supervisory position in Corning’sCorporate Engineering group and John has been working with engineers who report tome.

I have directly seen John’s ability as a process/manufacturing engineer. John is anexcellent engineer and is always willing to take on new challenges and has the ability toquickly learn new processes. John is thorough and can quickly focus on the issues athand. He has an excellent work ethic and can quickly become a contributing member ofany team. John was a key member of the team working at Coming’s Marlborough plant.At that plant, we were able to take a high cost and low productivity production line andredesign the manufacturing process without the need to retool. Production costs weresignificantly reduced, yields improved and throughput increased.
