To begin with – we need some tools…
Cable cutter

Let’s start to work…
First step is to cut your cable using a
proper cable cutter.

Screws for adjustment of blades
Hex tool for adjustment
Strip your cable…
Insert the cable into the cable stripper as
shown…
Attention: Please make sure to adjust the tool blades for your cable dimensions before using it for the first time! Please read instructions supplied with the tool.

Strip your cable…
Turn the stripper clockwise 4-5 times…

Strip your cable…
- and pull to remove the scraps…

Strip your cable…
Optional:
You can check the stripping dimensions against the guide printed on the connectors
6,5 + 6,5 mm (¼” + ¼”)

Prepare your cable…
Fold exposed braid over the jacket.
Leave the inner foil attached to the dielectric and make sure that the foil is undamaged and smooth.
For ”Quad shield”, ”Tri shield” and ”Super shield” cables: Remove the outer braid and foil only. Fold back the inner braid.

Mount the connector…
Use of the Rubber Tool will ensure
an excellent grip on the cable!
* Press the front part of the connector (with the built-in ”tool”) against the cable and turn it slowly to prepare the foil to enter into the connector. (* Optional operation – normally not necessary if Corning Cabelcon’s Rotary Cable Stripper has been used)

Push the connector over the foil and allow the support mandrel to slide between the foil and braid…
Mount the connector…
A mounting tool can be used to ensure a better grip on the connector…

Press and turn until the dielectric is flush with the support mandrel face
Mount the connector…

Compress the connector…
1) Insert your connector/cable into the tool with the tool handle in open position…
2) Apply a downward pressure on the cable to allow the split jaws to secure the cable…
Click!

- and close the tool handle completely insuring the connector sleeve is fully compressed (white plastic is invisible).

Open the tool - press the outside split-jaw tabs and pull out the connector assembly…
Take out the connector…

Finally some good advice…
In order to avoid decreased network performance, we recommend the use of a torque wrench to ensure proper tightening of your connectors.
