Production Facilities
Cormac Africa production facilities aim to:-
1. Provide a high quality and consistent range of construction products that will assist
the Company in the execution of its Africa Projects. CORMAC AFRICA aims to extend
the availability of these resources to local Communities and other Development
Projects. This will further support the Social & Environmental Structural Objectives of
Government by providing a quality and range of products that were previously not
available.
2. Manufacture stone and concrete products using the latest equipment that will
produce a high volume of quality products.
3. Introduce manufacturing techniques and production processes that will provide long
lasting solutions, supporting technology transfer and incorporating a comprehensive
training programme for local people. This will set the bench mark for future
manufacturing processes and further protect the Governments Africa Investment.
4. Provide support and technical assistance to the Local Government Authority
The manufacturing base of operations are designed and located close to and run in
conjunction with Cormac Africa Projects and will include a combination of:-
5. Quarrying to produce a high quality road stone for incorporation in new road
construction base layers. This operation will consist of a series of crushers, screens
and excavation plant.
6. Production of pressed concrete blocks for construction of houses, buildings etc. The
tailor-made machinery which utilises the surplus material from the quarrying
operation can make various size blocks to suit many applications. It can produce up
to 900 blocks per hour (dependent upon size required) and due to computer controls
can ensure consistency and quality at high outputs.
7. Ready mixed concrete plant. The ready mixed plant utilises the quarrying production
for the source of aggregate to manufacture the concrete required in the subsidiary
operations. The production of concrete is approximately 100m3 per hour and so it has
ample capacity to supply the local market.
8. Production of precast concrete pipes and box culverts. This top of the range
equipment can produce both reinforced and unreinforced concrete pipes from
250mm diameter up to 2000mm. It also has the flexibility to produce other concrete
products such as road gullies, septic tanks, and box culverts. The benefits of these
Page 9 of 16
products are that they are produced under factory conditions where quality control
can be monitored. This ensures that every product can fulfil its required function.
9. Cormac Africa have an extensive range of vertical bitumen emulsion and special
binder tanks in sizes ranging from 5m³ to 250m³ to suit the requirements of the
Asphalt production for a particular project. The tanks all come fully insulated with
high density insulation normally 225mm thick giving a minimal heat loss thus, making
our tanks very cost effective and energy efficient. CORMAC AFRICA also offer a range
of site built tanks for bulk storage in terminals and process plants.
Bitumen Terminals
Cormac Africa. is a specialist in the supply and installation of bitumen storage and transfer equipment.
